I was super late to this party, but breaking up with her was the right call. No one can have a significant other injured and hospitalized, and not have the decency to come see them in their recovery. People do not realize how much moral support of your partner plays a huge part in a person's recovery. Mentality and emotions affects some ones physical well-being. It's a shame that you even had to endure something like this while dealing with what could have, or was, a life-threatening accident.

In the sense of being pessimistic or rude towards her, and in her own warped way her mother believes she's on the right with saying these things. I always think it comes from mothers that come from an old school way of growing up, or growing up unfulfilled in a way and they take it out on their kids instead of uplifting them so they have it better than they did. Jeeez. 100% consider divorce. You usually see these tendencies in someone prior to marriage. When it comes to children it's 100% his fault for not bringing his concerns to you. Regardless of that matter, that's disrespectful for him to say, because if that's how he feels about his own child based on skin tone and eyes, then there's also a possibility, and now a strong one, that he may have felt this same way about you. The only difference in that he was tolerating this internally in the hopes that the first child would look like him. I honestly don't get it. Especially if his own parents don't even feel that way.
