Thanks for the input. I started out in a large karma which is much bigger than a large code so not too worried there! I also have the pod for the steeze. I’ve only tried it once and actually thought it was fine and better that everyone made it out to be. Was partially thinking maybe steeze with pod = crappy OG and so that was something pushing me to the code. But because I paddle the steeze the switch to the OG might be really smooth which pushes me to the OG. So torn!

Thanks for the reply. I ruled out the scorch as I think the sharp edges will do more harm than good for me when I’m not feeling super comfortable. Looks like a sweet boat otherwise!

OG vs CodeKayaking

Considering getting a new creekboat and I am torn between an OG and a large Code. Curious to get other people’s thoughts.

Currently I paddle a steeze and it is just a bit too spicy for when I am paddling near my limit. When I think creekboat, I think boat that takes care of you and allows you to paddle the hardest whitewater you can. It will be the boat that I will use whenever something is at my limit whether it’s creeking, big water, or just general river running. For these reasons I narrowed it down to OG and the Code. If you were me which would you choose and why? I can get each for similar price so it just comes down to how they paddle.

Thanks for the reply! That makes sense. The one point I’d add is that I would definitely expect a new engineers salary progression to be better than just a cost of living adjustment. Like you said, maybe that’s a couple years down the line though.

When to ask for a raiseJobs/Careers

I’ve been working as a junior electrical engineer for 9 months. I wanted to ask for a raise around the 1 year mark but was given a small raise (5%) at the start of the year. Is this about what I should be expecting? When should I next expect a raise and how much?
