This might turn into a rant, I'm not sure yet.

Due to my teeth suddenly deciding on moving, I recently got those clear aligners which truthfully can't be seen. But the sensory nightmare in my mouth is something I was NOT prepared for. When they're in my tongue has no space to talk properly, my mouth is always so DRY, the edges cut into the sides and my tongue oh and did I mention how DRY my mouth is?? When they're out I keep biting myself because the engagers (little blobs on some teeth) are in a stupid place. My whole mouth feels sore... And don't get me started on the procedure to get them prepared... they had to shave down some of my teeth (not much, the teeth are fine) and it feels and sounds like some is drilling a hole in your head and in a couple weeks they'll have to repeat that.

Yes, those things are nearly invisible and the "pain" I was warned about because of the pressure on the teeth actually is fine. But everyone keeps telling me I will get used to the sensory weirdness and to be honest, I don't think I will... they're basing that on neurotypicals I think. I have a hard time getting used to anything at all (it can take years for me to tolerate some stuff) and I dread I might not get used to it at all and I'll be suffering the whole 8 months.

Anyone here got any experience with that? because no one even thought to tell me about that kind of stuff and now I can't undo it anyway and I neeeed to get through 8 months of hell...
