In the CHL for every year you play you get a free year of education. Those players also go to schools that alumni gives them a lot of money in scholarships and grants that players can make money while at school in Canada.
All the comments like oh she never played the game as if every coach is a former NHL all star. Ya some coaches were former players but the game they played growing up is apples to oranges compared to a modern game. Look at Ryan Whittney and biz on chiclets. They’ve been out of the game for less than a decade and they have said this is a completely different game than when they played. Being an old pro means nothing compared to knowing how to coach and adapt to an evolving game.
It’s good to have more experience like this before being a head coach. Even an ahl head coach is a harder job than an NHL assistant coach.
