Hi all,
Just after some advice for my partner. She started a new job in 29th April. From 1st April to 28th she was on statutory sick pay.
Her hourly wage is £14.50 per hour;
April (29-30) take home salary £263 for 18.15 hours (tax £0, NI £0)
May (1-31) salary £2156.89 for 170.88 hours (tax £108.60, NI £114.38, employee pension £97.89)
June (1-30) salary £2087.57 for 143.97 hours (tax £246.80, NI £83.16, employee pension £78.38)
Now she was obviously concerned that this month she has paid more tax for less income, so I asked her to check her payslips to check the tax code.
For April and May her tax code is 1259L and this month 1257L. I can’t find any information for 1259L, can any provide help with regards to this issue. I suggested speaking to HMRC tomorrow, my guess is this is an error from her employer but knowledge of tax codes is out of my remit
Its almost a perfect show, brilliant character development, tension, great story line and brilliant acting from all involved
