During the height of COVID I had a boomer in the post office tell me to take off my mask.

I told if he wants it off he can come try to take it off of me.

He shut up after that.

That was about what they quoted me for a new motor for my 2016 Forester.

Iā€™m seeing way too many stories of Foresters suddenly needing engine rebuilds or replacements.

I was always told that these cars are reliable but that just doesnā€™t seem to be the case.

This hapoened recently in a menā€™s room.

Guy walked in yakking on his phone with the call on speaker and he went into the stall next to me.

I waited until I heard him sit down and then flushed.

Than I made a huge fart sound with my mouth on my arm and said ā€œFuck! I just shit on the floor!ā€

Then I got up and left.

Someone downvoted you for this comment?

I donā€™t get why.

Absolutely.

I hope youā€™re safe.

One thing these cars are known for is their safety.

Wow.

Iā€™ve seen way too many stories like this recently.

I love the part where she starts talking about disrespecting four dead people and the dude interrupts her to wave the Trump Won flag.

But thatā€™s the point.

I have the same conversation and I start off with a huge unrealistic amount.

Then I ask if theyā€™d do the job for $12K a year.

At that point we have determined that the correct salary is between 12 and 300.

People want to work for the right amount of money.

This shuts down the conversation every time.

It sounds like an OK deal until you remember that MrBeast hands out motion picture prop money.

If it was real money Iā€™d go on a long camping trip and come back with about $14K.

I was responding to the statement that people who complain about Subarus bought used high mileage WRXā€™s.

If anyone truly doubts my experience Iā€™m willing to make a bet.

Loser pays the repair invoice.

I didnā€™t say low miles either.

The point is I ended up with a shitty car and Iā€™m getting downvoted for it.

Your statement is untrue because you said that if someone is trashing Subaru itā€™s because they are teenagers with clapped out high mileage WRXā€™s and they drive like assholes.

Your other options were that they never owned a Subaru or didnā€™t maintain the car correctly.

I owned a Subaru and it was meticulously maintained. Iā€™m also not a teenager, it was not used or high mileage and totally not clapped out.

I also donā€™t drive like and asshole

Your statement was wrong because you were wrong on every point.

Anecdotes are merely data points.

OP asked a question and is getting data

That is simply not true.

I bought my Subaru Forester brand new and I donā€™t drive like an asshole.

The car has been in the shop multiple times for the same issues and earlier this year it just died and they wanted over $7K to replace the engine.

Subarus are not reliable.

Edit:

Iā€™m getting pushback from people who apparently canā€™t believe that a Subaru Forester can have catastrophic engine failure but Iā€™m unable to respond to them personally.

My comment said I bought it brand new as a response to the comment that said people who complain bought used, high mileage cars.

Anyone who thinks I made up this story is welcome to engage in a little wager with me.

I can provide the estimates and invoices for the $7K plus work I had done.

If Iā€™m telling the truth you pay the invoices. If Iā€™m lying Iā€™ll pay you $8K.

Any takers?

Replace with something thatā€™s not a Subaru.

This happened to me as well.

Take ā€˜em.

Iā€™m wearing socks, boxers, cargo shorts and a free shirt I got from a music festival.

This sounds like a psychological problem rather than a religious one.

Get some counseling. It will do wonders

Just agree with her and tell her youā€™ll get what itā€™s worth because thatā€™s exactly what youā€™ll do.

You canā€™t help it if itā€™s worthless.

Itā€™s really weird because Iā€™ve heard all about how reliable Subarus are supposed to be
