Also was going to say drink it. I just think it's tasty but also pickle juice is the best thing I've ever found for foot/leg cramps

$5 set of four cutting boards. Best cutting boards I own. Seem indestructible but I'm now milking them along bc I know I'll never find another set.

Came to say a variation of this: I have no convincing words but my void says you must go for treat money.

Agree. And I get so frustrated going to conferences and listening to people ask over and over how to solve the pipeline problem. There is absolutely no discussion about the profession getting crushed in social media and why that might be.

Lots of great suggestions already. May I offer up the Winternight Trilogy by Katherine Arden. Borrowed the first book on a lark just looking for something to read and got completely sucked in.

Also Acadia - not sure how many folks know about the bike trails (carriage roads) as I've never seen them very crowded but they're beautiful and have some great lookout points. Also good for cross country skiing in the winter.

Zoupa - there was a berry soup in the summer with spiced sweet pecans instead of croutons and for cold months they had an excellent Thai chicken noodle.

Came to say this. For me it's more of a distraction and sometimes sleep aid during a migraine, which is a benefit for sure, but I don't achieve full pain relief. But I think it works differently for different folks and with different strains of the plant, etc.

I mean at least they got that far. I've had at least two business managers argue that depreciation expense should be taken off their P&L because it's not real and accounting is intentionally inflating their expenses to make their division look bad and/or hide money.

I noticed a few times that I got more space from drivers while wearing purple or pink jerseys than when I wear more neutral colors like neon yellow or bright blue. Not enough data points to call it a trend but enough that I commented to my SO.

And Marzipan, who faceplants when she sleeps

Possibly not creative enough but I guess I don't like lettuce. I never make salads but after a holiday gathering where for the hundredth time I ate raw veggies and dip and remarked but I won't eat salad, we started doing veggie plates as an appetizer and I love it. So, maybe a veggie plate to start your meal? Bonus: you'll also get full faster so it's kind of a portion control method.

I think it's important to remember that there are a lot of really smart people who don't hold degrees. For the vast majority of these positions, a degree had to be listed as a preferred qualification. Preferred qualifications cannot, by themselves, disqualify a candidate. However, I don't know if that's widely known and if removing the language removes a barrier that would have prevented a qualified candidate from applying for a job, this is ultimately a good thing.

I don't have advice per se, but I am routing for you to do it. A friend and I talked about taking a gap year or few months after college graduation and doing the AT. Our graduation years got out of sync, and I also couldn't figure out how to tell my parents I wanted to do this. We didn't end up doing it and I regret it although being a fairly experienced hiker now, I know that 22 year old me would have had a lot to learn and would have set out with a bag like Monster from Wild. There's so much adventure to be had beyond work. As a hiring manager, I would say that as long as gaps in employment are explainable, it's not an issue. And what a fantastic explanation! Best of luck, and I really hope you get to do this!

Also have tickets for Mary Chapin Carpenter. She plays an interesting mix of venues, at least in Richmond. I've seen her at the Altria but also at Lewis Ginter.

We've used New Image for about a year now and are happy. I don't know if they do organizing but may be worth asking.

I don't know - I had their Aphrodite spaghetti earlier this week and it was quite good. I've had the fettuccine before too and also quite good.

I think it depends on your career goals and to a degree your personal motivations. As many have mentioned there's a different skill set required for managing people vs doing the work and with a small company (and even with a big company) if you like doing the work there may be a way to mold your position so you have a balance of the two. I like to be in the "room where it happens" to borrow from Hamilton so it was worth it for that for me. I don't necessarily need to make the decision but it's valuable to me to have input and know what went into a decision.

Been on a steady diet of Luke Combs for a couple years now. Even Though I'm Leaving came out at an unfortunately perfect time and I've been hooked since.

Tried to click on this post and it registered the downvote button instead. If this is how today is going to go I may call in sick and go back to bed.

In other news it was a beautiful morning for a bike ride. Almost chilly especially compared to the near 90 temps they're predicting!

Was going to say this as well. Your card never leaves your sight. Even had an instance where we sat outside and the machine was out of range so the waiter had me walk with them to where the card reader had signal again. It's been that way for many years in Europe

Bremac did a furnace and hot water heater replacement for us and have done the maintenance on our AC system for years. We had bad experiences with both James River and Woodfin.

Yes, rudeness is one thing and it seems like there may have been an unfortunate incident, which I'm sorry OP experienced.

It's important to keep in mind though that when one sells a property, it's not one's property anymore. Aesthetic and other choices - however unfortunate they may be in the opinion of the old owners - are solely the choice of the new owners.

I just want someone to pick a time methodology and stick with it. I think I'd prefer EST to EDT just because I like to get in a bike ride before work and EST would give me more morning light longer but I'd be happy to just not do this whole time change thing twice a year.
