Yeah, my 3 year is perfectly fine coloring or playing with something on her own for a good while. Lots of times I'm working and she's across the house content as could be. She knows she has my attention whenever she needs it, there's no way she can leave the house or backyard and not much she could realistically get herself endangered with in the house.

Yeah, it kinda just happened. lol I miss drinking but have no desire to. My wife and I were both heavy social drinkers - lots of social stuff, after work happy hours, would you usually make a drink or two at night (a nightly bottle of champagne wasn’t uncommon); lol we gave the staff at our usual sports bar Christmas bonuses.

Perfect storm of wife being pregnant at beginning of Covid - all the places we drank at closed, no more socializing, I start working from home, and my drinking buddy was growing our baby. Drinking alone at home seemed very alchy. And I just kinda haven’t felt like it since. I’ve had maybe 3 drinks in the past year.

lol kinda sucks, I loved so many beers and cocktails, had a great bar setup, and I was such a great drunk - high tolerance, fun and sociable, never drove. Wife has pretty much stopped, too, an occasional glass of wine, maybe a drink on date night

To be one of the best high school players in the state of Florida and get no offers due to “academic” reasons is insane, can’t get into a HBCU, lol then when he finally makes a d-1 team he gets kicked out of school before ever playing for fighting campus security.

Yeah, she cried the first day and I think my wife cried even more - the school called me like an hour before pick up and said she had a great day and calmed down like minutes after we left. By the third week she would ask every night if she had school the next day or not.

The other school we were looking at was 845-330, with naptime from 1-3, and yeah didn’t know how that would go with her not napping (and it was twice as much). Worked out really well for us

We started just two days a week 830-12 - we were kinda hesitant since she was covid baby and had very little interactions with others. She loved it immediately, and kinda regretted not doing full week from the beginning, but that may vary.

Half day works with our schedule, and our kid dropped napping at 2, so I just really didn’t see need for full day yet. lol they’ll have plenty of time to be in school all day later

My biggest concern with these blocks when our daughter was that age was her chunking them at us. She has a cannon for an arm and those little pieces can hurt. Almost 4 and she still loves those blocks (and a now expensive Lego habit)

The more the better IMO. My daughter is a September baby like I was, and I did 2 years of preschool and 1 year of pre-k, and we have her scheduled for the same. She just finished her first year part time and loved it, has moved to full week for year 2. I stay at home/work from home, and I think it has been great for everyone. We decided on half days and are very pleased with it.

I had to know. Zero thoughts about not doing it immediately.

Huntington's was known in my family for 30+ years now, my parents lied about my mom testing negative - she was never tested. She started showing symptoms and I started the process before she was ever tested. I held up a bit when she finally decided to test on the chance that she was negative, but I followed through with the process the day she got her results and got tested within a week.

For me, the chance of being gene negative outweighed the anxiety of not knowing, and anything I could do to prevent my daughter or future children from the issue was a must.

I was one of the people just before Christmas 2019 who had some unknown illness - strep and flu negative, had a horrible cough, had to lay on my stomach to catch my breath, and a fever that gave me the most insane chills I'd ever had for over a week.

It's a crapshoot. My kid had it when she was 2 and again 2 weeks ago. Both times she had a moderate fever and was super sleepy, runny nose, and was back to normal on the second day. I've had it twice (didn't get it or give it to her either time) and pretty much the same for me - low fever and just an incredible tiredness, then pretty much fine the next day. My wife was miserable for an entire week when she had it.

Me and my wife both had two boosters, daughter didn't get the covid shot.

It really is crazy. 15 years ago having $10k in a bank account was hard to imagine, and now if someone gave me and my wife $1m it would definitely be better than getting stabbed in the eye, but not exactly life-changing.

Attorney here - nothing what you said is accurate. My state (and I assume others) gives lots of deference to how municipalities choose to handle administrative matters. A lot of boards I’ve represented people in front of (especially for zoning variances and appraisal reviews) have deadlines where the person has to inform the board they are being represented by someone - perfectly cromulent. Their attorney should have known this. I’ve been called last minute and been denied for these matters (I’ve also bullied my way through, too).
