MLB and Sony getting more hands on with the game started the downfall of the game. I remember back in the day the developers would tell the players not to spend money on stubs and now the game is pretty much dependent on that. MLB forcing SDS to move the game to other platforms was the start of this. Im sure them and Sony also told SDS to make the game more dependent on microtransactions

Theres an old IG post going around of Kyle and his current gf with Kyle’s cousins in 2017. At the time she would have been around 21 and he was 13. Suspiciously enough the IG post said ‘hanging out with my cousins again’ which has people speculating that Kyle and his GF are actually cousins, which i dont truly believe because i would assume Kyle’s brother or mother would have brought that up. Most likely his gf was babysitting him when he was around 11-13 and she did some creepy ass pre order thing and groomed him and they’re now engaged.

I remember in the DD stream before the game came out Ramone went on about being on a tight development schedule and they always cant do everything the community wants every year. I feel like that was his way of telling us that the game would be disappointing or lackluster. Definitely seems like people like Ramone and Brev and Ashley have little to no control over the game and especially Brev and Ashley are forced to make content the way it is.

Think one of the reasons is that they have a card art team that makes a lot of different card arts. If they just stuck to topps cards, there would be no need for a cart art team and they would all be fired. Another reason is to give not as known players boosted cards. This would also lead to a consistent pattern of the same players every year like SDS has already been criticized for and lesser known players would not be getting high tier cards.
