I need to shoutout The Rider by Chloé Zhao.

That movie had me downright sobbing in the theater. Ugly crying, hot tears in front of strangers.

I would’ve been embarrassed if I wasn’t so overwhelmed by what the film was doing.

PG- Steph Curry

SG- Michael Jordan

SF- LeBron James

PF- Kevin Durant

C- Hakeem Olajuwon

LeBron is effective the point on offense with two of the best floor spacers in Steph/KD. MJ of course is the best 1v1 scorer and Hakeem is the low post/P&R threat.

Defensively Hakeem is one of the best rim protectors ever. MJ is the point of attack stopper and KD/LeBron are decent weak-side helpers.

This is basically the best offense I can imagine and pretty good defense too.

“Where is my Mind” by The Pixies at the end of Fight Club.

Because I list qualities of the movie?

Kirsten maybe has the most screen time actually. And while she’s a bit one-note for the most part, she does elevate the role and get some opportunities to show a little range.

Plemons isn’t in the film much but he makes the most of his screen time.

Actually, a common criticism is that the movie is too vague in its stances on politics. It shies away from who are the bad/good guys. There’s even a scene where characters shooting at each other aren’t even sure if they’re on different sides.

It’s commenting the current divide and warning how close things are to violence. If anything, I think it’s anti-war and advocating for unity.

Sorry but I don’t think you speak for everyone.

Thanks for the feedback though. I’ll keep it mind 👍🏼

I believe I do include words that are feelings. Such as “evocative, upsetting, intensity, relatable, levity, and immersive”. I think those words describe how the movie feels.

I’m sorry you don’t like my format but I believe it to be the most concise. I’m more interested in the concrete techniques used in films. I like providing as much evidence as I can. I’m not writing poetry, that’s just not me.

I can see there are people on this subreddit who don’t like my approach but I do believe there are likeminded people who might get something out of my style. I rather speak to them.

Thanks!

And sorry for the cheesy links ha, maybe I’ll cut those down in the future.
