Sorry that was a bit of a reaction. So what happened was support from CAFs stopped when he turned 18. Since then he really struggled, making appoints was near to impossible for him (ADHD) so he ended up being in and put of the system via the police.

We got close at one point where instead of a prison sentence he had an 18 month sentence to a mental health facility. The daily structure, intense teaching (one on one) and unavoidable counsellings nade a huge difference (and no self medicating!). The family court decided after 6 months that he was well enough to be released. Unfortunately he needed 12 to 18 months.

He had spent nearly all his adult life struggling with clinical depression.

(The bit I haven't been able to figure out was he was sentenced through criminal court, where doctors, police, psych nurse and judge were all in agreement that this would give him a chance to turn himself around and yet Family court can undo all of that).

He and his gf passed away a couple of years ago in a car accident.

Unless it's the Willis or English versions of data.

The councils seem to be able to act with impunity. rate payer always pays.

do underfloor heating and you won't need the towel rails or warm seat! Just having bare feet on warm tiles takes away any concerns of a cold bum, and the towels are super dry! Never a damp towel again.

Edit: sorry didn't read your post properly so a bit of a weird answer above. Whatever way it happens it will end up on the Councils plate to sort out, they can't do it.

I'd like a glimpse of evidence of this too. I came across this exact same viewpoint and he posted an opinion article from PWC I think? Anyway there was no fact there just some guys opinion. I really would like to see evidence of it. I'm like the poster below, I've only ever seen survey results that support a huge growth in productivity with remote work.

OMG, this is like reading my sons story albeit 20 years ago. I remember sitting down with the phone book in tears and phoned every psychiatrist in the book and couldn't get one. This was after CAFs had suggested we set up a chart on which he got ticks for good behavior and at the end of the week he could have some kind of treat - he was 15 and was on drugs. They refused to tell him that taking drugs was wrong, he had to come to his own conclusions. This was a kid with severe ADHD and an intellectual disability.

I don't have anything to suggest. All I can say is I am so sorry and I know what you are going through.

If you want to reach out for moral support I'm happy to give it.

Here's some ideas,

1. Shop around, online. Make it local online shops, for me it's both PakNSave and Woolies, choose the cheapest prices. If you have a chemist warehouse, bargain chemist, then don't forget their prices. You need to do this early in the week so that you can time all you click and collects at the same time.
2. Shop online at the Warehouse, make sure you are buying locally and you use click and collect. They do this weird thing now where other orgs sell on their website, so be really careful what you buy.
3. If you have a local farmers market, Shop from there regardless of price. It's usually about the same as the supermarkets but we aren't lining those supermarket bastards pockets where we don't have too. Having online supermarket shopping delivered is where the extra big cost comes from so only do it if you can click and collect.
4. Vege garden, it doesn't have to be a garden or outside. If you have a ranch slider pot up some lettuces and a tomato and pop them in front of the ranch slider on shelves. (Don't inadvertently block out all your sun)
5. Instead of buying the goods you bought today try buying things that your mum would have bought (or Gran), e.g. a bar of soap can be grated up and thinned down with water to make a liquid hand soap, or just use bars of soap instead.
6. And yes, thrift shopping.
