Except for additive depletion issues like with GM6 and GM8 transmissions, regularly changing the fluid and filter in your automatic transmission is a waste of money and resources, but changing the fluid and filter after an overhaul is 👍.
The device this was originally attached to is sent back to BMW following the receiving process at the dealer. It was a long brown 4ga cable that connected to the battery and a magnetic switch hung around the rear view mirror. It's job was to disconnect the battery during transport mode and reconnect the battery when it was time to unload. It's removed during the QC1.
It's an abandoned connector for the magic wand battery disconnect device.
Limp mode with no codes? Doesn't sound right. If your engine is stalling like dead dead and there are no codes when you check, then this is likely a clogged cat
There is no need to reengineer this part. It's a low cost maintenance item. Unlikely to fail twice during someone's ownership. There are tons of other items I would consider upgrading on your car before I'd consider the ground cable an issue.
There's no such thing as a starter ground cable on this vehicle. The starter is grounded to the engine block. The engine block is grounded to the chassis with a braided cable that corrodes. 12427549396
Did the service engine soon lamp come on and go off after starting the engine? If not you'll need to encode the DME. Fastest way is to use NCS
Even the shadiest used tire dealers shave the dates off.
Check for cracks in the air box. Usually smoke test will reveal it
You must have an early version. The 2012 to early 2014 models with cic/nbt or basic head units did not have tire pressure display activated from the factory. You can code this feature and activate it. The 2014 and newer vehicles do show the tire display without needing to code it. If you want to code it yourself, you can try bimmer code for a fee or learn how to use ESYS and code it yourself.
The air mass sensor on turbocharged gas engines are usually used as a comparator they really don't do anything anymore since the engine computer will calculate the air mass based on multiple sensors. Don't waste your time cleaning it.
I think you might be the stupid one. You got that supersession backwards. 11367614288 is the forward supersession.
This is called an ear lamp. It's one time use. I use a cut off wheel to cut it at the crimp section. It's not a good idea to try to take it off the upper radiator hose. The nipple is likely going to break off the hose. If both hoses are the same age you should replace both.
Bravo! Not good for your body. Invest in a wheel lift.
IVM likey soaked in water. Go check it first.
I have never seen a study that proves any transmission service has ever saved any transmission from failure. Plenty of cars over 300k with no service to the original transmission.
Hey genius, what do you think is inside the headlight right now and caused this issue? What do you think condensation is? And do you know what IPA is and what it does to water? Because you sound fucking stupid. Jesus Christ is right. Go back to school dumbass. Self awareness of month award doesn't go to this dumbass.
remove head lamps, douse in soap and water and gargle / swirl it and drain it out. then 100% IPA and douse it again and dry out above a heat lamp
Need to read codes out of DSC module. Likely a bad steering angle sensor
Where did you get the alternator? Just because it's new or recently replaced doesn't mean it's good. I'd trust a new reman on from BMW, a reman one directly from Bosch/SEG and less trust on a brown box third party Bosch reman. If it's some other brand it was likely just a used part that was cleaned up and sold as reman.
Pencil and transfer paper
Even if you didnt find any metal in the oil, you'll want to send that sample out to a lab. The service department is not going to do the labwork on site. The problem is not likely to be visible anyway in the oil. Its likely the machining debris is caught in the oil galley of the crankshaft causing oil starvation to the crankshaft bearing. Just drive the car until something happens. The the warranty is over and they dont extend the warranty for the engine, sell the trunk and get another one.
Did the 1k Oil Change For Peace of Mind… No metal found!
