Thanks, that’s good to hear! I jumped in at 1.0 so I wasn’t sure what to expect.

Most important question: will this break my saves?

I second this. Even now that I know the game somewhat well and I play with the baron on, I still like the pace of the game better pushing raiders off an extra year.

Additional tip: you should buy an ox as soon as you can to speed up log transport, but save money for setting up a couple of trade routes for easy to acquire stuff like firewood or lumber. If you forget and spend all your money before setting up a trade route your game is pretty much done.

Somewhat related to units/professions - what’s everyone’s opinion on a workorder system like Rimworld or Dwarf Fortress?

For example - I want to maintain an inventory level of 24 sidearms, 24 spears, shields, etc. I don’t want to make them infinitely and burn through iron unnecessarily. Particularly if I’m dependent on trade for iron.

Everyone is saying heels which is probably true but also a little bit of Sonics elbow is behind Flashy Flash, so he’s at least a half step further away in that scene too.

I’m worried about how they’ll do in the song and dance portion of the playoffs, but they’re still just kids, we’ll have to wait and see how they develop

Unfortunately that version of McCain is how most people under 30-35 remember him

Everyone here is giving good advice but I want to add that there’s no shame in pushing back the raiders one more year before you start. I like the pace of the game better that way personally. I feel like the default settings force you into a particular build order and play style, while the additional year means I can waste some time and still make it.

You can just get the game from Steam and get a refund if you aren’t happy with the performance. There is a 2 hour (playtime) refund window.

Hey for every 100 theories that turn out to be wrong… there are another 100 theories even wronger!

With the crazy variety in islands I wouldn’t be surprised to find an entire island full of whatever creature from whatever anime you’re thinking of

That’s what I was thinking. No one says you have to be good at your hobbies

My version of this is that you can draw your burgage plot and then use the plus and minus buttons on screen to choose how many plots it will be divided into. I was making extremely long and narrow vegetable plots for way too long.

Play the tutorials and then the campaign! It will help you tremendously!

“Nothing wrong with a bit of filth, a bit of fun, when work wanes your wick”

I only hate it because the phrase “when work wanes your wick” gets stuck in my head and then I can never remember how it starts. Had to google it this time otherwise it would have started to drive me crazy all over again.

It’s a logistics game first and foremost, but you’re going to need to build an efficient city for it to all work.

Personally I feel like being familiar with the trade and logistics system of Anno 1800 helped me with managing trucks and transport, Cities Skylines helped me in efficiently planning the physical location of infrastructure, Oxygen Not Included has helped me get comfortable with complex and multi-step industry, and so on.

The game draws from the best aspects of many sim-type games that I already enjoyed and spent quite a lot of time learning. I can imagine this game would be quite difficult for someone with no experience with the genre.

Lol what? Are you a janitor at Boeing or something? What’s with the megacorp loyalty?

Shelters are extremely dangerous places. People get robbed, assaulted, and harassed. Unless it’s too cold or stormy to be outside it’s often more dangerous to be in a shelter than to be on the street.

Pretty sure Meta is big enough to just have you disappeared for violating an NDA like that

Must have had a highly productive trip to the bathroom
