I am learning... but I need my contract notarised asap. My landlord has agreed to meet me at the notary to complete this but I am worried I will need an official translator or a Turkish speaking friend with me. Or will I be ok using translating apps?
This just isn’t true. I don’t know why people keep saying this. Public transport journey is 0.5€
There’s a Tesco inside new street station
Why does it matter? Why do you want to be waited so bad? Go to Nando’s with people you care about and good food, I’m not there to interact with the waiter the same way they don’t care to interact with you
Of course if they’re willing to engage I will, I won’t be rude. But I’m not expecting or even caring
It’s 0% fees mastercard exchange rate. Chase literally give you the best available option for paying in foreign currency physically or digitally.
Are you aware of an apocalypse we don’t know about lol
You’ve missed a lot of great football lol.
Yes I did this yesterday in şirinevler they had translation office there too
hi,
i was already in tÜrkiye so I applied via the göc idaresi (immigration centre) https://e-ikamet.goc.gov.tr/ . the website is a little bit shit but you should be fine. you will need to submit health insurance for your desired visa length, so you'll have to buy that in advance.
i didn't 'take' documents anywhere yet, when you're accepted for digital nomad visa they give you a list of things you'll need for your ikamet application, see here: https://we.tl/t-frRJWLVA0D . you'll need a few of these during the process on website, but most of these things you need physical copies of to take to your in person appointment.
they don't need apostille. the hardest document is you need a notarised residence contract (so, if you don't have a place in türkiye already, you'll need to rent one for the length of your desired visa length). you have to go with your landlord to a notary and if you can't speak turkish, you'll need a translator too. it's a headache but it's not impossible and you only need to do it just one time.
i don't think you can bring a family member, they would need their own visa. if they don't meet dn requirements they can take student route. tourist visas without a deliberate reason to stay are being declined mostly now.
i hope i answered all your questions :) good luck and feel free to reach out.
So I went today and I was successful. Here are the prices I paid:
300tl translate passport
700tl translate contract
3800 notarise contract
750 notarise passport
I was actually pleasantly surprised especially after the prices you told me. This place was in Şirinevler, I don’t live there but I think my landlord does so maybe he knew this place already.
Thank you a lot you’ve been very helpful
Thank you so helpful
thank you a lot. When you say immigration office, you mean here? https://maps.app.goo.gl/YRxiR7kTDV2gVwc88?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy
Also, can I just walk in and request this or do I need to pre arrange
That’s insane. My flatmate is at work tomorrow when I will go. I really wish he could come as he speaks fluent turkish. But his contract is already notarised. I recently moved here so he updated the contract for me
Also can I ask you about this? I need this document:
Document showing registration in the address registration system; E-signed/signed and stamped/sealed “Residence Document” to be obtained from provincial/district directorates of registry or e-government system (www.turkiye.gov.tr)
Is this a utility in my name basically?
Also it’s frustrating because I know the document already lol. I literally just need it for my kimlik appointment.
yes, my appointment is at the main centre in Fatih. So let’s see. My Turkish is passable I know a lot of vocab but I can’t communicate in sentences yet.
I appreciate your offering for help. Outside of this notary issue, everything else has been smooth and ok, and I actually have a valid reason for stay so I’m not overly worried of rejection for that reason (like many others).
The only other problem I have is with this:
Document showing registration in the address registration system; E-signed/signed and stamped/sealed “Residence Document” to be obtained from provincial/district directorates of registry or e-government system (www.turkiye.gov.tr)
My understanding of this is I need to get a bill put in my name? Is that correct?
🙂↔️ lol. I’m in European side and I am (as any other renter) at the mercy of my landlord. So I can’t really get him to travel to Kadıköy. As I am relying on him (my kimlik appointment is in a few week) I need to just meet his needs lol. I will just have to accept the expensive price. Thanks for your words
thank you. Actually now you say this, my landlord did this today. We actually met today at a notary and they rejected us, but he called another notary close by and he asked if they will accept me, and they said yes. So I guess this means the translator will be there.
thank you. Today actually I went to the notary and got rejected. However my landlord called another notary near by and they said they will accept. So maybe they have a translator there. Hopefully 🙂↔️
This is literally the same. The saka lwb story was bs then
