please don't hate on IT peeps, we are mostly desperate ro get the flat and these agents / sales people take advantage of that.

We have limited time to search for apartments , as we can only look during weekends and staying in hotels cost a ton hence not fesiable.

Regarding buying the flats , it's same story, rent has skyrocketed and daily you get news like - Flat owner is kicking out tenants after hiking the rent 50%

The issue is most IT people have to commute daily to their office locations. On top of that there is uncertainty regarding the location too, in order to get better salary, we have to switch companies and hence don't know where we will end up every 2-3 years.

By the time we plan to settle down, we need to buy house near office as again it doesn't make sense to buy flat where both husband and wife and their kids are wasting many hours per day in commuting.

I am assuming that at least 50% of salaried people in bangalore have less than 30 to 50L package.
