Paid 17.5 for 17’ Limited w/ 80k about 2 months ago and consider it a good deal for my area (nyc). Mine was from a subaru dealer so make of that what you will.
$50-100 cash goes a long way. Just got to get over the initial weariness that you might be undercover.
Decently priced labor and most parts prices..
With the exception of the prices for the tie rods and that most rack and pinions come with the inners already installed… so he’s basically double dipping or buying the cheapest rack possible (either way not good).
Lol i can remove your engine and transmission for 3k 😂. Max price for oem parts w/ labor at an independent shop should be around $11-1200
Nyc area independent shop here. Labor rate @ 120/hr x book time @ 21 hrs = $2500 before taxes&fees and is just labor. Engine and transmission are supposed to come down as per the book. That does not include any gasket/seals or miscellaneous parts that break due to age. Id probably say that an estimate of around $2800 is fair for my area
VHT Caliper Spray Paint from autozone. About half a can per caliper. 3 coats a piece. Just fyi if you take them off make sure you have replacement banjo bolt washers (from where the brake hoses get connected) as they are one time use.
I got an 18’ sport 16k miles (no accidents and CPO) for 17.5k out the door 2 yrs ago.
Refiance within 1 yr and/or make weekly payments of 25%(or more) of your monthly bill. It decreases the interest amount that can be accrued and drastically lowers the estimated 8k in total interest over the lifespan of the loan.
07’ Rav4 - 741k miles when the trans blew
That is the serpentine belt not a timing belt. I would definitely replace it if its original. May or may not fix your problem though. Could be a pulley, tensioner… or something else
Sorry typo. 5pm. Usually shoot for those macros within a 7 hr window. Its a range. Sometimes i can do it other times too full and miss it
Weekdays: Intermittent fasting. 10am - 2pm. 1.5-2grams of protein and .75 grams of carbs for every lb i weigh. Weekends: no fasting
You can take the voltage reading at the battery vs at the alternator to see if theres a difference. Should be 13.3(ish)v or higher & steady. If there is a difference than there is most likely a problem with your harness/alternator connector. If the voltage readings are the same but too low or the voltage is not steady then the alternator is defective again. You’d be surprised how many times this happens with lower cost effective options. If the results are inconclusive.. see a mechanic.
Also maybe check that you have the correct battery installed. I have a 2018 mazda3 sport and it requires an EFP (enhanced flood protection) battery. There should be a sticker on top the battery that will tell you the CCAs and should say EFP/AGM on it.
Maybe battery service if the battery has corrosion otherwise the rest are scams. Too early in the lifespan to do them
Mechanics everywhere agree
Not exactly what most would consider “out west” skiing (more southwest if anything) but Taos in New Mexico is great value with lots of expert terrain.
Did you check the battery terminals? Sometimes the screw that tightens them works it self loose if it wasnt originally tightened sufficiently.
I live in Brooklyn. Garage park as well. Drive a 22’ TRD OP even though a Rav4 or Highlander would totally suit my needs .. but I love it and wouldnt change it for the world. I get about 16 mpg but its soaks up nyc’s notorious potholes like nothing else. Feels like a tank among go carts.
Probably your best bet. Super common for them to break when over tightened. I believe doorman even makes an aluminum upgrade to prevent the housing from breaking.
