Truth. There wasn't anyone in this draft worth a big trade for... To anyone who said the Nets shoulda tried to get the #3 pick, my question was always: to pick who? Reed Sheppard?
Good lord? Are the Kyrie stans still really around this sub?
What’s your sample size here? KD, Harding and Irving? Not exactly a bunch that’s got a track record for sticking around any team for very long.
The lottery changes have lowered the odds of tanking paying off, but it still doesn’t seem to be preventing teams from actively trying to win as few games as possible.
Bad teams happen. But watching bad teams knowing they aren’t even trying is just bad basketball, like Washington Generals bad.
Tanking is the worst aspect of the current NBA and ought to be abolished imho. Watching teams get cheered and saluted for NOT trying to field competitive squads is completely bizarre.
If I were Adam Silver for a day, I'd convene a league meeting about either overhauling the lottery system or putting together tougher sanctions for teams that aren't trying to compete.
Everything that BootOfRise said about the Villanova connection and internal pressure.
My guess (and this is a total guess!) is that Rosas asks Marks about a trade for Bridges and Marks replies: “Sure, I get it. Just top the last offer I turned down, and it’s done.”
Though this trade gives the Nets picks enough for a youth-led rebuild, don't forget that this year (at last!) Simmons' wretched but expiring contract is a trade asset. I bet Marks shops some of these picks plus Simmons contract to a team willing to part with their star to do their own rebuild either this summer or at the trade deadline... This is now like 10 first round picks that Marks was able to wring out of the KD trade with the Suns, so the Nets would *still* have picks in the cupboard if they traded a bunch of them.
The Knicks aren't guaranteed winners today smh
The Knicks always overrate themselves. They had their best season in what a decade or two and it's a first-round playoff exit. I'm more than happy holding their picks the next few years.
The only game you're playin is inside your head.
This is a great trade by the front office.
Those picks aren't going to be that far out... I bet one of them is in this year's draft. Knicks have two, one from Dallas.
Plus, Bogdanovich is a pretty good return, too!
For those curious, here's the Knicks pre-trade picks through 2027... the only pick we know we're getting for sure is that 2025 Milwaukee first rounder that's protected 1-4 (so seems likely to come our way on schedule).
Year | Round | # | From | |
---|---|---|---|---|
2024 | 1 | 24 | DAL | No protections |
2024 | 1 | 25 | Own | |
2024 | 2 | 38 | UTA | No protections |
2025 | 1 | - | DET | Protected 1-13 |
2025 | 1 | - | Own | |
2025 | 1 | - | MIL | Protected 1-4 |
2025 | 1 | - | WAS | Protected 1-10 |
2025 | 2 | - | BKN | No protections |
2025 | 2 | - | DET | Protected 31-55 |
2026 | 1 | - | Own | |
2027 | 1 | - | Own | |
2027 | 2 | - | Own | |
To all the "but we don't have our own picks" crybabies... all that means is that tanking isn't an option for the Nets. And as a fan, there's nothing worse than watching a tank season.
What? They're getting SEVEN picks total here... And despite Nets trading away a TON of picks in the Harden deal, they already had a huge stash of picks 2025 and beyond (including those tasty tasty Suns picks) ... I am waiting to see how this plays out, but it looks like the Nets have plenty enough draft capital to rebuild that way ... or build a trade or BOTH!
Hate it, hate it, hate it.
Especially when the Nets are wearing black-and-white, it makes us look like the B&W part of Pleasantville and the opponents are in color.
They seem to have added a touch of tan in the last season or so, if I'm not mistaken, so it isn't so totally gray.
But the original herringbone brown court is still the one true court the Nets should play on at home.
What is the value of the 3 pick? I don’t get it. I keep looking at the mock draft and I don’t see anyone who looks like they would be worth trading Bridges for.
And my reply is: Brook Lopez on the Bucks.
Thank you for the update, and good luck!
Hi there! I’m dealing with the exact same problem: an encroaching infestation from the neighbor’s yard.
It would be really helpful to know if your Roundup strategy is working one year in.
I don’t know if I can get my neighbor to cooperate with a full-bore eradication plan.
Thanks!

Why are people so butthurt about getting the No. 3 pick back this year? For all the crying on this sub, I haven’t seen anyone say who they would want to pick in the draft … feels like a terrible trade.
You're wrong.
The Nets are sitting on a huge stash of picks via the KD trade. They had the chance to get into this draft — Houston offered their old picks back for the PHX picks — and they passed, which seems sensible at this side of it?
Everyone says they want a rebuilding year until they get into it and then they cry about not "winning now." Nets 2025 is gonna be awesome. Bedwetters beware.
Huh? What's the part of the Nets sales pitch do they not execute on? The only thing KD and Kyrie didn't get was a supermax deal for Kyrie that no other team was going to offer him.
