I'm using a cordless wood router and it's burning the wood all of a sudden I believe it's pine also bit is new
Make 1 cut almost full depth. Lower the bit a very tiny amount and make final pass to remove burn marks
This is the answer. Fine tuning your router speed and how fast you push can only take you so far. If you try to hog out all the material at once, you’re gunna have a bad time. Working up to your finished surface is the real pro move.
This is also how you'd approach it on a CNC router, just faster speeds and machine arms 🦾
Also applies to finishing. Both in thickness of application and working up to an edge so that you don’t get drips.
We take off 3/16ths at 10-14000 rpm for final pass. Generally moving 1.5 meters per minute.
This, though on end grain I might be more inclined to take several light passes, especially with a cheap bit.
Hogging off a lot of end grain with a router is a good way to rip chunks out of the board too.
This is the true correct answer.
Ohhhh this is smart. Almost like you’re a carpenter guy.
this is the correct answer, and to add to it if you still get burn marks, remove the router bit from the router afterwards and use the bits profile like a plane to carefully remove the burn marks
