Where did you guys get your fish fry tonight?
Nice! Sounds like a good plate.
I thought about posting a picture but just ate it (a few hours ago). Right-on for sharing yours.
Lol thanks!
Golden Gyros 72nd and Lincoln.
I didn't know we were doing fry's would have taken a picture.
Can only eat half at a time so more fish tomorrow...
:)
Pretty good available anytime, Their tarter sauce is to die for~!
Nice price. Local restaurant in rural northern Illinois costs $15. So for me and wife it costs $30. But I’d go for savings if it just tastes as good for nearly $20 for gas station fish fry.
St. Augustine Church, West Allis
Church fish fry is a bit like Pizza; even if it's bad it's still pretty good! 🤘
Looks delicious!!
It was! Also got a few chicken tenders too haha
church fried chicken is always a loveable classic.
i made a pizza LIKE A PIECE OF SHIT
Haha I doubt you're a piece of shit lol. What pizza did you make?
It was a Lozza Mozza cheese.
I ate out enough last weekend so tried to skip it this time around.
Don't blame you, sounds good!
Don't feel bad! Lotza Mozza's where it's at!
Pizzas usually good. You’d have to mess up really bad to make it bad, like too doughy and undercooked.
Is this a Tourette's Guy reference?
it is now
I COULD SHIT A BETTER KOOL-AID COMMERCIAL
Yes. I bought your toothpaste, the one with tarter control, and it made me feel like a piece shit!
Making it myself.
Always great!
Live in Colorado and there are places that serve fish and chips to varying degrees of success, but it’s not the same. I need the full spread. So every other Friday we make up a full plate at home.
What recipe. Air fried, actual fryer, or baked?
Deep Fried.
2 and half cups of flour
1 cup of beer
2 eggs
1/3 cup of lemon juice
1 TBLS of salt
1 1/2 TBLS of baking powder
1/2 TBLS of baking soda
1 TBLS of brown sugar
So nice. We basically gave up our deep fryer because we wanted to get healthier foods. But wow I will see if we can do it with air fryer but nothing beats the actual deep fryer.
Culver's. Don't judge.
None here!
Cant judge one bit; we hit up Culver's for Fish Fry all the time!!! It's really really good!
It's easily better than half of the others I've waited in line for, and you can't beat the dessert!! Also pro points awarded if you make a nice twilight road trip out to Sauk to enjoy dinner out on the flagship store's sweet new patio!
Yo Culver’s has a low key fire fish fry. Don’t sleep!
I’ll keep in mind. Never tried fish fry there. It been a few years. Actually maybe a decade when I had their fried chicken it was bland and I didn’t enjoy it then. But I kept hearing people say chicken is good, I think maybe they didn’t add the seasoning at the time. I still go for the burgers and cheese curds. Fish fry is something I’ll try since you had mentioned it.
DJ's In The Drink, Lake Como
Heck yes! I love their burgers too. Same with Papas!
I need to try Papa's. I miss Freddie's fish fry
Oh my gosh! You gotta get to papas! Have you been to legends? I’ve never been there.
No, I haven't. There's a restaurant near Mars that I'd like to try.
Mars was my boyfriend and mines first date! Is it the Getaway? My boss goes their often and says all good things.
How great that it was your first date. My friend's wife is a Hostess there. Yes! The Getaway! A friend keeps posting his breakfast on FB. I want it!
We went to Spice of India tonight in Delavan and it was so tasty.
I've only been to Elizabeth's, Los Agaves, and Tana's.
OMG Papa's! Their burger with fresh dill is amazing and so is the asian fusion pork cutlet sandwhich called the komokatsu (sp).
Gilles
Fondy?
Gilles is in Fondy
I love Gilles! I don’t eat fish, but I love the ice cream 💕
Custard*:P
😂😂 Sorry, it’s been awhile. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ I knew that 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
xo:D
Milly one is the oldest though
What is "the Milley one"? Is that a town or something?
Road lake🎣🎣
Ooh, where is that at?
Found some leftovers from an eagle and cooked it with my cigarette lighter. The eyes were okay but the bones were a little tough.

You get a gold star on your Sconnie card.
Mackinaws in Green Bay
Hilltop in Stevens Point.
I was just in Point, I'll have to give it a try!
St Paul Fish - Walleye was so crispy it Captain Crunched the roof of my mouth!
In one of my favorite books this phenomenon is referred to as "mouth beef" 😂😂
I am so jealous! We live on the west coast and tried various places here but they so inconsistent. I miss the little tavern in the middle of nowhere that has a great perch or walleye fish fry on Friday nights. When we visit family getting a fish fry on Friday is a must do on our itinerary every time!
Lake City Social, Wis Dells location. Had the grilled shrimp skewer as well.
Edit: Oh and a Peanut butter old fashioned.
Pb&j old fashioned? 🤯
Peanut butter whiskey, and 'pressed', which to that bar tender means 50/50 Sprite and Club soda so it's not super sweet.
How is it priced?
$9, but it's the Dells so everything is higher here.
Ah I see
I work 3rd, Friday into Saturday being my last day of the week, so I don't get to do Fish Fry anymore 😭
But I can't recommend enough the bluegill at Majorle's Black River Grill in Sheboygan
Aww what an fate to have, I'll have to try that though the next time I'm in Sheboygan!
We had our at home cheap fish fry tonight.
If you’re up in da Northwoods…
That’s a good-looking menu.
I’m yet to have something that’s bad there.
God all of that looks so yummy.
That's like 6 miles from my house and I've never heard of them. I'll have to give it a try.
Though, I would like to note that it's south of 8, so not in the Northwoods, 😂.
Fair enough. If you go, get the Muddy Water Meatballs. Spectacular.
Looks like I have a new place to try next time I visit my parents. There are so many great sounding options.
We will definitely try this place. Great menu.
Need some more fish fry spots (I’mma just snoop all the comments)
Home made fish fry for us.
We made our own fish fry. Just forgot to fry it!
I'm getting Flippies from Burlington tonight. Never tried them but everything else they make hits the spot.
I hear that Flippies is really good!
It's kind of a jack of all trades in my book. Certain foods they do immaculately like the gyros and subs. Even their Chicago style hotdogs are bangers. But sadly the fish was just so-so.
I'm so picky about fish fry!
Gooseberries does a great one too, you just pick it up and take it home.
That's what I did with this one!
It's been 11 years since I lived in B-town so I don't know Flippy's but I'm glad to hear it's good :)
I love me a flippy’s gyro or sub. We moved from Burlington to Waterford in 2020. The Cruise in Waterford has a great fish fry.
Noted. I'll be checking that out next week when I visit my grandbabies house for her birthday party. Thanks for the recommendation 😃
On The Clock/Howell Ave, Milw. There might be as good, but none better.
That’s one of those buildings that you can tell has a good fish fry just by looking at it.
Thunderbird Lanes in Baraboo. One of the best I've had. Corn Fritters, tater tots, and the fish is pretty good too.
Tip Top Tavern in Madison
Is that a fish fry for ants?
Nope, it's lake perch, I eat like an ant though!
The outpost Sherwood! It’s most excellent
Tracks
I got the baked fish from Phillips Cafe, in Phillips. The fish is good, had hash browns and cream chicken and wild rice soup. Pretty good. They also have a potato and cheddar crusted baked fish I get occasionally that's quite good.
George Webb. I have never been disappointed with their cod platter and it's been 40 years. Now you can order online and pick up, it's great. Just be careful, when that fish comes out of the fryer it's going to be hot. Don't burn yar tongue.
Made our own. Breaded deep fried walleye, horseradish coleslaw and broccoli with cheese sauce. Way better than what’s pictured here. Sorry!
That sounds infinitely more delicious than what I had, don't worry!
Larry’s in Browndeer
Mason Brothers Red Owl in Green Bay
Gullivars landing Wausau! It was pretty good!
Does Hiawatha still do one? They were fantastic when I lived there 20 odd years ago.
I have not been there but a buddy last week told me we need to go get wings from there because they are great maybe next week I'll try their fish fry
Made it at home some Gortons fish some Ore Ida frys and my deep fryer
Culver's fried fish sandwich if that counts
No offense, but that is a very sad looking fish fry
ETA: while still sad looking, further context has revealed this was almost certainly a delicious FFF.
No worries! It's lake perch from pike lake. It was absolutely delicious to be honest.
Some of the best perch I've ever had in my life looked just like this. Pic looks great
thanks!
That explains why the filets are smaller. And I think the angle didn’t do any favors lol.
But that still doesn’t explain the lack of fries…
I got potato salad! This place does a really good job of it.
I'd be way more into WI fish fries if the fish were locally sourced.
A forgettable place on US 2 in Escanaba, MI. First piece of bluegill tasted old. The rest left their own oil pools on the plate. Great slaw, tho.
I baked it coated with crackers, flour, and seasonings, with butter already sizzling before adding the fish, at 400. Baked & turned over about 15 to 20 min. Best recipe ever. Thanks to my Dad! Also his tartar sauce recipe, Mayo, little bit of French dressing for color & flavor, diced dill pickles & a little pour of juice from the jar, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, dash of salt and pepper. Best tartar sauce I’ve ever had.
Usually Anchor Bay in Biron or Guu’s in Point.
I love fish fry o love fish fry I love fish fry!!!!
Tumbled Rock
Beautiful night for it, had the bluegill. Paired with their Pineapple Kolsh and its midwest paradise.
Caught my own fish. Fried em up.
Cracker Barrel
Lost Land Lake Lodge
Anyone know a good place in the Appleton to Oshkosh area? (I live in Neenah and have only been in Wisconsin for a few years. I'm the only one in the fam that will eat fish).

Thanks.
Capitol Centre in Appleton. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the fish is amazing!
Thank you.

Whitnall Park Beer Garden in Glendale
Guu's On Main
What is that? It's tiny.
Mickey's Tavern, Madison
We just moved to Mauston today (Friday). We tried High Steaks Bar and Grill. 2 pieces of cod, coleslaw, fries, and cornbread for $13.99. Wasn't too bad.
Is this a thing to continue with a Fish Fry even though lent is over? At home, most Fish frys are done after Easter and then you just get Fish and Chips.
We never stop fish-fryin'
Fish fry is every Friday year round and every restaurant or bar with a deep fryer in the state.
Tommy’s Bar in Sheboygan
How about pics before you eat it?
I tried, but it smelled too good!
I had Taco Bell
All I see is a bunch of packaging heading to the landfill.
Lodi Wi country club. Pan seared Walleye. Decent 7/10
Why is your fish fry so small?
Lake perch!
Right, I saw the context later. Personally I miss bluegill the most 😉
Almost as good as perch imo.
B52s in Menomonee Falls
their gyros are legit
Crawfish Junction in Milford, known for their award winning fried cod 😋
The Meating Place in Mayville.
Who's got the best one in Hartford?
Harbor bar and grill is 10/10 but my buddy that worked there said the kitchen is the most disgusting thing he's ever seen, so there's that.
Pink House, Twin Lakes.
Also Pines in Mercer when I can get there.
The Hazelhurst pub. Last Friday, ERA in Minocqua and the week before that, fried my own.
My parents, only home for a couple weeks from Memphis and was missing out on the Friday fish fry

Frog Pond North of DeForest. Vintage Wisconsin.
Made my own at home
Oakcrest Tavern
Thankfully not where OP did... Yikes... No offense...
Understandable, but it's lake perch!
Reluctant to say. Don’t want it to get more crowded than it already gets. Oakcrest Tavern , Madison.
Moose Inn-Wautoma! Great fish, fries, cole slaw, potato salad, rye bread, and a deck you can eat out on. AUCE for less than $15.
Tine & Cellar in Wausau. Very very good, but a little pricey.
Nowhere but a few weeks ago I went to the Bass Bay Brewhouse in Muskego and had their fish fry which was great
Tried the fish fry at Appleton Beer Factory on college Ave a couple weeks ago. It was fantastic! Huge pieces of fish beautifully fried in a beer batter(I'm guessing). As a lifelong Friday night fish guy, absolutely some of the best fish I've ever had.
I haven’t eaten meat in decades, but when I was in high school, we would get ours at the American legion outpost in Shorewood.
Lake Waubesa.
The best, Cinders on Main St in Oshkosh!
I love the walleye fish fry at The Pine Isle in Three Lakes
loading zone in wausau!
Butler Inn —— Butler WI. Perch
Bowling Alley
Can never have enough Tarter sauce.
Made my own from the bluegills we catch!
Park Island Resort, Nelson Lake, Hayward Wisconsin! (And an Old Fashioned)..
we usually just make it at home and skip those lines but when we do Quivey's Grove
Lone Girl Brewing in Waunakee. First time there and they had a solid haddock. Bluegill is my favorite but this was not a bad second choice.
Bob’s Bitchin BBQ. Was pretty good. Was also excited to buy a bottle of the Razzberry BBQ sauce.
Local gas station. 3 piece cod, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, tartar sauce and a roll. They usually have a nice cole slaw but were out today. $9.25.
