Once he turns 88 you're going to see some serious shit
3 years left
This is the best comment! I'm so excited for this to happen now.
Fun fact Christopher lloyd was only 10 years older than micheal j fox when they filmed the first back to the future!
Edit: it's a joke....i know they are 23 years apart!!!!!......stop dming me death threats wtf is wrong with you all?
Even funnier fact - this was true also for parts II and III!
Funnerest fact - the same is also true now!
Funnererererer fact; Lloyd was 10 years older when micheal was born, too!
Wrong maths they’re 40 years apart now since it’s been about 40 years since they filmed the movie - 10
You mean they didn't use real time machines to film those movies?
.....Ohh shittt
Lloyd is 85 and Fox is 62, so 23 year difference.
Key to upvotes: lie confidently.
But then Michael J Fox went back to the future, and closed that gap a little bit.
This is untrue entirely. Michael J Fox was 24 when they filmed the first back to the future, Christopher Lloyd was 46. That’s 22 years.
How much older than Michael J Fox is he now?
Same age now.
In 2 he has surgery that makes him 10 years younger
Christopher Lloyd is 23 years older than Michael J Fox though. Where did you pull this made up fact from?
Thats not true at all there is a 23 year age difference.
I thought you wrote that he was only ten and my sleepy brain was like "come on, he at least was in his 20s" 🤣
death threats? on r/wholesomememes? lmao
Relax, those threats are from mjf's multiple burner accounts. He can't hurt you
Larry David’s lost brother
Christopher Lloyd probably tells it as he got to meet a wonderful fan.
Ah I love this, it’s so obvious a statement but it’s still heartwarming
I thought the same. He has always struck me as the kind of guy who would love something like this.
This is moving story but to watch a movie 50,000 times everyday would take 136 years.
The shirt seems washed out, worn many years. Probably 500 times
It's 50,000 times. He's actually and genuinely back from the future
Woah
Thanks doc for doing the meth
Validated
It's fading, he needs mom and dad to kiss.
Underappreciated comment.
At a rate of once a day. The 50,000 is probably an overestimate but at 4x a day it would take 34 years
Definitely doable, the man is in his 40s and if it's his favorite thing to watch, watching 4x a day doesn't seem unlikely. I think what they meant to say is he watches it at least once per day, but sometimes more.
I think what they meant to say is he watches it at least once per day, but sometimes more.
I think you might be on to something considering the tweet says at least once per day or more
David Attenborugh voice
"You can actually pinpoint the exact moment the redditor understood the importance of reading"
Very moving even if you divide the number in half it would be around 70 years, I guess the movie was played repeatedly maybe up to four time a day.
Either way it is amazing, keep watching your movie that you like and you might end up meeting your favorite actors.
Am truly very happy for him, and extremely nice from the actor.
If its just the first Back to the future. My basic inaccurate math (116mins long)
50,000 x 116 mins = 5,800,000 mins. 5,800,00 ÷ 60 = 96,666.66 hours. 96,666.66 hours ÷ 24 = 4,027.77 days. 4,027.77 days ÷ 365 = 11.035 years. 11.035 years straight of Back to the future. If it was 8 hours of viewing a day, it would be 33 years 37 days at least. So it's possible but not likely.
If we do all three films, 1 = 116mins, 2 = 108mins, 3 = 118mins. If it's all three films 50,000 times, its 32.53 years straight
97 years 220 days for 8 hours a day for the trilogy
Edit: punctuation
If it was 8 hours of viewing a day, it would be 33 years 37 days atleast
There's people who play runescape for 12+ hours a day for decades. I personally have two years logged online and I only played for about a six year period.
The movie part of the movie is only 107 minutes so that saves 312 days of watch time if he skips the credits. If he skips the opening titles and starts when the first clock appears, that's another 90 seconds saved per watch for another 50 days saved.
The tweet is probably exaggerating but if they were literal I would completely believe 50,000 watches, even including the credits.
Who said he watched the whole movie?
There’s that word again. Heavy. Why are things so heavy in the future?
Are you suggesting this gentleman has a time machine of some sort?
If you watch at default speed yeah. However, if you set the speed to x20..
Well they did say at least once a day
He has 136 tvs and plays it on all of them. It only took him 2 years watching 12 hours a day.
To be fair they do say he’s watched them at least once a day, implying there are days where he watches them more than once
After watching the movie at least once a day, every day for a set amount of years, it will feel like 50,000+ times.
It says at least once a day, but I'm with you, it's exaggerated.
This isn't an issue when you have a time traveling Delorean.
Look up the word hyperbole
People's complete inability to understand figurative speech is remarkable.
"Great, Scott!!!" 😲😲
that’s heavy!!
This is heavy doc
What’d make it better is if the man’s name was Scott…
My little brother has downs, can confirm, gets stuck in a loop with movies. He’s currently on his millionth mean girls run.
That’s the face of someone who is either very emotional, or really wants to wrap this thing up so he can get back to watching Back to the Future.
Walked by him sitting on a bench at Sundance Resort about 25 years ago as a little kid. Mom told me to go say hi, but I was too nervous so I just went to walk by him with my dog. He must have noticed me looking at him because when I get close he said something like, “really cute dog you’ve got there”. Spent a couple minutes talking to me, made my week, really nice guy!
Why were you so nervous to talk to a 16 year old with Down syndrome?
Probably didn't feel right interrupting the guy watching Back to the Future on his portable DVD player.
The only comment I've ever upvoted on this shithole
I am on my phone, in bed, in the dark, and I see this. I instantly recognized Christopher Lloyd, but my brain could just not recognise Michael J Fox next to him and I had to read the description before I knew what was going on.

What if he were black or Asian?
I love this, because I've met Mr. Lloyd before more than a few times, and you can tell that he is genuinely happy in this photo

Met him at a con , he is indeed a lovely man!!
The brother, you mean? ;p
Awwww this is so sweet. What a dear heart!
And look at Christopher Lloyd putting his little hand on him like that! So special :)
I love sweetheart men! <3
Recently saw the Broadway adaptation of this. Wasn't expecting much but oh my it was sooooo good. There was a developmentally challenged guy behind us that went nuts at the end, at the "Roads? Where we're going..." part, (the car literally flys over the audience). He was yelling "Let's goooooo!" He was just so ecstatic. Pure joy. It was awesome.
That's awesome
Sick bro. I got to sit in one of the delorians they filmed with. Apparently there were 5 when filmed. I hope he gets to sit in one of them
It's been kind of amazing watching the shift in quality of life for people with his condition. From being treated as a burden on society when I was younger to now being allowed to live out decent, fulfilling lives. Some even independently.
There's a lot about society that scares me nowadays, but stuff like this makes me feel a bit better. At least things are getting better for some people.
Christopher Lloyd looks like the nicest man. That's cool that dude got to meet him.
I wonder how many vhs and dvd copies he went through before it was available to stream
I love this so much! My eldest sister has DS and these stories make my heart grow three sizes.
Of all the movies to watch 50,000 times, the Back to the Future franchise is definitely a good choice.
Redditors fucking love people with down syndrome.
Well, they do say people love to feel represented
Look up blark and son
Your brother has good taste.
Fuck ya ✊🏼
Seems like a good life tbh
Bet that is his absolute favorite memory of his entire life!
I read this wrong and thought bro was a lawyer
Your brother looks close to tears! It’s so awesome that they got to meet! This definitely made me smile!
Looks like c2e2. He was awesome thrre and sat in the delorian
That's the coolest thing I've seen in years
Upset because he wants to get home and watch some BTTF Dammit!
In order to watch this movie 50000 times, he would need to at least watch it 3+ times every single day since he was born.
So, that is a good 7 hours of playtime every single day of his life, which I doubt heavily.
Could he have been exaggerating?
Well let's say it's 5,000. That's still fuck tons
❤️❤️❤️
Honest to God "BTTF" Angel!
That’s awesome! My cousins movie is The Land Before Time. Probably has watched it as much as your brother in law
We need an AMA from this guy. I want to see what he knows lol
Dude has excellent taste in movies.
Awesome for him!
I'm making em at night
Good for him
That’s guys got three or four grilled cheeses in his pockets of that I am certain, and also jealous.
That’s awesome. Your brothers the one on the right?
Very cool
Heheh, I still own that shirt too. It's a fire shirt.
As far as comfort movies go, Back to the Future is a pretty awesome comfort movie.
This is wonderful
That’s literally impossible
Love it!
Thanks for posting OP
“Lou, gimme a milk. Chocolate.” Then he lays down the LAW! Thanks for sharing, OP! The chocolate milk scene is my favorite!
The guy on the right almost looks like it could be John Cena if you squint..
When I was a kid I watched The Sandlot everyday when I got home from school on VHS and my friend would watch 101 Dalmatians. We would take turns on who got to watch their favorite movie first. I imagine he feels like that everyday still. Still getting that much enjoyment each time.
He kind of looks like Jim Carey
He can 100% recite the whole movie from start to finish and tell you everyone who worked on the set. If he has a blu Ray with special features, shit, he might as well be a back to the future historian.
Source: my downs syndrome brother did this with mortal Kombat, Jurassic Park, Star wars, etc. he studied the credits like they held the answers to the universe.
Numbers are janky but I'll be the bigger man and let it go.
Has he also played the game and seen the comics?
Great Scott it looks like he has worn that t shirt 50,000+ times.
That's neat!
That’s awesome!
Happiest man on earth I bet
Once a day for 31 years (assuming he started watching at age 10) is 11,315 times, nowhere close to "50,000+." Even thrice daily wouldn't be close.
Awesome!
He looks like he's in disbelief! I hope he had an amazing day. Christopher Lloyd seems super nice.
I wanna know how many times he has worn that shirt. Dude looks like he has gotten his moneys worth.
In the sequel, Doc did the whole younger face thing bc the movie makeup was so uncomfortable.
He looks like Jim Carrey doesn't he?
I don’t think you look good either compare to your brother in law!
Awesome sauce
That’s very cool
Is it just me or does the dude look like Jim Carrey?
I love how he’s doing the Doc Stare.
Great Scott 😳 !! The only way he could do that would be to break the time/space barrier and watch it in a parallel continuum in a seperate room. But he would need a Deloriun to do that !
He doesn't look very excited about it
So I mean no disrespect to people with down syndrome but they honestly always seem happy with the simplest of things. Like their lives are free of complications. I may be wrong
The best sci-fi movie of all time
bro is committed
Damn, now I have to watch Back to the Future.
He picked one of the greatest movies of all time. Kudos on his fantastic taste.
Awesome!!!
Christopher Lloyd came into the Macy’s I was working at and bought sunglasses at the sunglasses hut next to the watch counter where I worked. Pretty cool guy.
Look I’m not saying I want downs, but man, sometimes I’d like to feel the same way about things that I love the way I used to. I’m dead inside. Idk how to fix it. People who live w downs are some of the most compassionate and cool people I’ve ever met.
Your BIL looks like a an IRL Wreck-it Ralph.
That's 136 years worth of watching back to the future every day
But......the math.
I am so happy for him! 🥰
Great scott!
Very cool! I saw him at C2E2 and really wanted to get in line, but the kids wanted to see the star wars booths instead.
Watching anything 50,000 times would take 137 years, assuming it is watched once per day.
christopher lloyd made me reallize that you are old for most of your life
Guy looks like he’d rather be home watching back to the futire
Awesome!
"Where we're going, we don't worry about that 21st chromosome!"
Aight, gonna do some stupid math.
Back to the Future was released 03-Jul-1985. So it has been out 14,200 days.
50,000 / 14,200 = 3.52 times a day, every single day, since the day it was released.
And the time watched- let's assume it's just the first movie at 116 minutes.
50,000 * 116 = 5,800,000 minutes
5,800,000 / 60 = 96,666.67 hours
96,666.67 / 24 hours = 4027.78 days
4027.78 / 365 = 11.03 years watching
Assuming he sleeps 8 hours a day as normal:
41 / 3 = 13.67; 41 - 13.67 = 27.33 years awake
11.03 / 27.33 = 40.35% of his conscious life watching Back to the Future
I'm aware this number was probably highly exaggerated. But this kind of stuff is amusing.
He looks very young for 41 years nice
You can tell the shirt he’s wearing is loved.
He looks like he wants to stop wasting time and go watch the movie again
Sokka-Haiku by sheepyowl:
He looks like he wants
To stop wasting time and go
Watch the movie again
Remember that one time Sokka accidentally used an extra syllable in that Haiku Battle in Ba Sing Se? That was a Sokka Haiku and you just made one.
Doesn't even crack a smile smh
There's 3 Back To The Future movies so that's like ~16,666 times per movie.
The world will be a bit dimmer when Lloyd passes.
hes got me beat, im autistic and these movies used to be my hyperfixation. i spent one summer watching them each probably at least 100-200 times (the third one maybe about 50-100 times less). watched them all almost every day and sometimes multiple times a day, watching the normal version then the directors cuts.
"... He has downs syndrome" Oh, I couldn't tell...
This is so nice. I love it. Might cry idk
How is Lloyd still alive when he’s an old man on a picture with a clock from 1885?
How cool, he got to meet Doc!
I'm always interested when Netflix releases its fun statistics that cover things like this, like "X account viewed Y movie Z number of times."
I imagined its either cases like this or someone purposely fucking with them for some reason to throw off their numbers.
You mean Christopher Legend! Your brother in law must have been so excited.
Oh my
Bless them both
The actor??!!??
The brother in law kinda looks like Jim Carrey.
Why is he frowning so much?
Wow Jim Carey is out of shape
He does look very focused
I can't help but notice that the brother-in-law has a more than passing likeness to Jim Carrey, who played a character named "Lloyd" in a few movies.
Lloyd has been in his 80s for 40 years
