Everything ElseWe also did lemon with raspberry filling! It's the bakery's most popular flavour for wedding cakes apparently (which we later found to be true after having the same cake at multiple friends' weddings 😆).

My mom told me chocolate wasn't good for weddings and that you should have light flavors but I'm here to tell you to get the cake you want! It was so good. I've been chasing that dessert high.

I’m dying at “the Brussel sprout of cake flavors” 😂 We are serving cookies in 8 flavors to our guests and just have a cutting cake for us, and that’s the one that’s carrot cake. Since it was just for us, we were excited to be able to pick our favorite flavor!
The wedding cake will be pink champagne with strawberry filling, and the groom’s cake will be banana with nutella filling!
My aunt is also making lemon Oreo cakesicles as well as a batch of chocolate cakesicles for the dessert table 😋
We had Dairy Queen ice cream cakes for our guests. Big hit!
After planning that, I developed lactose intolerance so we did a vegan chocolate cake with caramel filling and chocolate frosting for the two of us (and for a few vegan guests)
We’re doing half raspberry almond (almond cake with raspberry preserves and fresh raspberries and vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream) and half funfetti with vanilla bean cream cheese frosting
All our food had a theme: Italian, American, and Filipino. My husband is Italian, we live in America, and I’m Filipino. Our cake was Chantilly, red velvet, and ube.

We flew in my Filipina chef friend to Italy to cook the Filipino food (we live in Chicago). Lumpia for cocktail hour, adobo for dinner. Didn’t want to overwhelm the Italians with anything else lol. No other Filipino traditions (absolutely no money dance). Although our table names were simple phrases in each language (ie table 1: hello, kumusta, ciao)

We're doing a raspberry marquise cake. Chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, raspberry filling/jam. It is absolutely delicious and we are so excited to serve it!
We had a mix of flavors, we had a sheet cake that was half chocolate and half vanilla. Our 3 tier cake the top and bottom tiers were crème brûlée flavored and the middle tier was amaretto divine. My husband's groom cake was lemon. The frosting was a cream cheese butter cream.
We’re doing a cutting cake and cupcakes! Haven’t decided on the cutting cake flavor officially but we’re having an October wedding so we’re doing pumpkin with a maple frosting, apple with a caramel icing and a chocolate with chocolate icing
One tier is vanilla cake with raspberry filling and rose frosting, and the other is rosemary cake with strawberry filling and vanilla frosting (all vegan). They’re both so good!!

We had two options in our different tiers. First was pumpkin spice cake with cinnamon cream cheese, second was dark chocolate cake with peanut butter filling.
We're having one almond cake with sour cherry filling and vanilla buttercream icing, plus another chocolate cake with fudge filling and cookies and cream buttercream icing :)
In our culture a wedding cake is traditionally “torta envinada” which means “wine soaked cake”. It’s a cake that’s made several weeks or months in advance, idk what the original flavor is when freshly baked but it’s studded with nuts, raisins and the like that have been marinated in a mix of wine, cloves, vainilla extract, cinammon and orange juice. The cake itself is also marinated in red wine (or similar spirit) for days/month. Every day several tablespoons of wine are added to the top of the cake until it soaks through and turns completely black - this is known as getting the cake drunk. It’s extremely moist and has a strong taste, you either love it or hate it. We personally love it and will be serving it at our wedding but also have a gelato bar + toppings for those that dislike it.

Today is our first anniversary and we got a mini cake (almond) to celebrate. Still think it was a delicious choice!

We’re just doing a sweetheart cake (cookies for the guests). My fiancé doesn’t really like cake all that much so he doesn’t have a preference and my favorite flavor is funfetti so that’s what we’re doing.

We had smaller cake and dessert options as well that came with the desserts from our catering, they included a mini chocolate cake, a lemon and raspberry cake/bar, and red velvet cupcakes.
We had 4 different flavours. - cream cheese/ strawberry - chocolate/ pistachio - yogurt / mango - yogurt / raspberry chocolate chip
We’re doing a three layer cake.
First layer is vanilla cake with cookies and cream filling.
Second layer is chocolate cake with cookie dough filling.
Third layer is vanilla chocolate chip cake with cannoli filling!

I had Carrot cake on the bottom. Vanilla in the middle and chocolate on the top
We had a brunch wedding so we opted for cinnamon buns instead of a cake!
We've chosen sticky toffee pudding for our biggest tier, lemon and passion fruit for our middle tier and carrot and pecan for our top tier.
Three tiers, each tier is four layers. Vanilla European buttercream throughout and on outside styled to look like three white/paper birch slices.
Top tier: Almond cake with cherries between the 2-3 layers. (My (40f) layer!)
Middle tier: Lemon Blueberry cake (with fresh blueberries) with lemon curd mixed in with the buttercream of the 2-3 layers. (Groom's (53m) layer!)
Bottom tier: Chocolate cake, no additions.
I cannot wait to get that cake in me!!!! Hahaha!!
We had a different flavor for each layer. The top was lemon cake with a tropical mousse, the middle was marble cake with cookies and cream mousse, and the bottom was lavender with lemon curds and fresh blueberries.

I think we’re doing cupcakes.
But if we’re picking one place we’re doing black velvet with caramel filling, chocolate truffle filling, white with cream, snickerdoodle with cream cheese, and lemon with raspberry.
Other bakery tasting is this weekend so it kind of depends on the quote we get.

We did mini bundt cakes and got every flavor they offered and a bigger version of our favorite flavor (Snickerdoodle) to cut.
Strawberry with lemon frosting. Our venue had in house catering and three cake flavors to choose from. That was easily the best.
Bottom tier is lemon with lemon icing, and sliced strawberries; top layer is their “Princess Cake,” a light white cake that normally has Bavarian cream and lingonberry jam, but instead of the cream we are doing double jam :):)
We aren't having one, but if we did, I would have gone with classic almond/vanilla wedding cake. I absolutely love it and don't see it at nearly enough weddings.
I picked a flavor for each tier. Chocolate, sticky toffee pudding, and peach.
We had a marble cutting cake with chocolate and vanilla cupcakes for guests. We went with an award-winning local bakery that has amazing cake rather than choosing a flavor that many people may not like.
For our personal wedding cake we are choosing lemon cake with lemon curd, raspberry preserves & buttercream in between the layers & buttercream frosting on top.
We are doing cupcakes for all the guests: lemon, key lime, chocolate for the regular. Lemon, key lime, chocolate for the just gluten free. Chocolate or vanilla for the vegan, dairy free & gluten free.
Our bakery is known for their Swedish Princess Cake. We had them do the elements of that cake, but as a traditional stacked wedding cake. It was so good.
Oh these all sound so cool and fancy! We didn’t have many cool options like these - no elderflower lemon or lavender earl grey or whatnot was available! We really wanted hummingbird cake (my husband loves pineapple and I love carrot cake and we thought it would be a really sweet touch to combine them) and our cake maker even specially made it for a cake box for us, but honestly her banana cake was her absolute best, so we chose that, plus a layer of strawberry marble I think, just because I love pink.

We had vanilla pound cake, fresh strawberry filling, with whipped cream frosting - elevated strawberry shortcake. Simple, but delicious.
My husband and I decided to go with pur favorite flavor since we already agreed we wanted to have a tradition of eating our wedding cake every year on our anniversary (obviously not THE wedding cake that's either gross or we hate each other and planned to divorce fast haha. But just the same flavor)
We went with lemon cherry cake with seedless raspberry filling and white buttercream. It was lovely and a huge hit with our guests.
As a former baker myself I can also say this flavor had the added benefit of being something light to end the meal on for ourselves and our guests. It was fruity and the type of frosting is silky and smooth. I have NOTHING against chocolate - it's amazing haha - but it can be very heavy on the palette and we wanted a cake that would be refreshing and a sweet light note to end on. Our favorite flavor just happened to match that.
We’re having a fall wedding in the mountains so we went with caramel apple cake plus some fall themed desserts

Passionfruit! We are debating either a 2 tier or small cutting cake for us+sheet for guests, if we do a 2 tier they make other tropical flavors that all sound wonderful as well.

We're having 3 options, all have cream cheese frosting. Carrot cake & chocolate will have cream cheese filling as well. Vanilla cake will have raspberry filling.
We got two choices, so we went for lemon drizzle for the bottom tier and raspberry and almond for the top tier. We also have some gluten and dairy free folk so we got vanilla gluten free cupcakes and chocolate dairy free cupcakes.
