Kid makes an awesome catch during a football game
SportsJust realized these guys were probably literally the Teen Titans in this video.
Also whoever edited it. Way too many slow motion videos that don't show the action in real time.
Pretty incredible. Kid definitely has talent. Bet it’s a moment some won’t forget.
When I was a kid playing soccer I made a shot, bounced it off the crossbar, turned around and kicked it over my head/shoulder and made it into the goal. I wasn’t incredible at soccer and after a few years the really talented guys were way ahead of me and I found other passions, but every half a decade or so I’ll think about that goal like “oh yeah, that was pretty cool.”
I heard about a guy in Chicagoland years ago scored four touchdowns in a single game while playing for the Polk High School Panthers in the 1966 city championship game versus Andrew Johnson High School
Heard he settled down though.
In probably about 6th grade, we were in the championship for some weekend tournament. My goalie punted the ball, and I went for a chest trap. Put my arms too close together and caught the ball. I just stood there shocked, holding the ball. And the ref just goes, you can put the ball down 😂.
Later in the game my goalie punted it again and as I went for another chest trap someone on the other team yelled, "don't catch the ball again!"
I still recall that moment every 5-10 years.
I’m experiencing second-hand embarrassment
Yeah most people and players who were there will probably always remember this happening
I counted 4 catches. Incredible
Somewhere, an NFL announcer feels compelled to talk about the definition of a catch and has no idea why
I mean, if they were actually good they would have just caught it initially as his defender was falling down.
Says the guy complaining about Buffalo Wild Wings raising their prices and adding a $1 delivery fee.
From the guy who thinks blind people are trying to see out of their elbow.
(Now deleted post)
Says the guy that says
“I’m fed up of seeing posts saying
“not enough content”
“Roadmap needed”
“$60 for an alpha”
I just love the game and wanna sail the seas”
This phenomenon was described by a blind person. Nice try though.
Then why delete it?
Fuck if I know. Either the whole post was deleted, or I cleaned up inactive posts.
Either way, my post about a blind person’s experience of being blind vs having an optic nerve fully severed is far from someone talking shit about a child playing sports while complaining about your chicken wings being too expensive.
So you can't remember if you deleted a post that made you look like an idiot in the past.... 4 hours? Getting major Marjorie Taylor Greene vibes here.
You’re an actual idiot. The deleted post in reference was not made 4 hours ago 🤦🏻♂️ Nor did it make me look like an idiot. It’s a commonly described phenomenon for blind people. Many people born blind describe seeing nothing vs people who go blind describe seeing black.
You don’t even know the post your trying to catch me on. Keep trying though, chicken man! Hope Buffalo Wild Wings hears your complaints so you can afford the wings again.
Of course it wasn't. Guess I need to break it down for you:
10 hours ago you get called out for a stupid comment after someone goes through your post history to find it
6 hours ago you say "hmph, it wasn't as bad as you say it was, but miraculously the post disappeared sometime in the past 4 hours so we can't confirm. I also can't remember if I deleted it in the past 4 hours or not, so maybe this old post was coincidentally deleted by someone else in that 4 hour span"
You're the worst kind of moron. The kind that lies and thinks they're smarter than everyone else and won't get caught. You're like a child with red stains all over their face telling their parents they have no idea why all the strawberries in the fridge are gone.
Either way, my post about a blind person’s experience of being blind vs having an optic nerve fully severed is far from someone talking shit about a child playing sports while complaining about your chicken wings being too expensive.
You truly are one of a kind.... good luck in life to ya buddy.
Have a good one Chicken Man!
Super weird you go digging through my post history to bring up something I posted 3 months ago because you disagree with this comment.
Also it was a $1 ordering fee I was complaining about. Restaurants shouldn't charge you money simply for ordering. Build that into the prices, don't hide it. I stand by that.
Welcome to Reddit.
Some people on reddit are just creepy
Unfortunately, catching the ball is one of the bottom skills for WR in college or NFL
Not really awesome- he should have grabbed it the first time.
says the guy who can't even hold a cup of milk and walk at the same time.
I still remember the school yard plays from various sports from my day. They’re sports center top 10 worthy in my head lol.
I can imaging the player saying, “get back here get back here get back here” the entire time. Good job by him staying on it and getting that touchdown!
I just imagine "Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck"
But also kudos to the QB. What a cannon for an arm. Good timing, trajectory and aim.
But also kudos to the cameraman. May or may not have been a Canon for a camera. Good timing, trajectory and aim.
But also Kudos, the granola bar--remember them? What ever happened to them? I feel like they were a big part of my childhood. I guess corporate did not have good timing, trajectory, or aim
i am eating a granola bar rn lol
Kudos!
I think that was popular when Emperors New Groove was out.. and I think Kuzko had great comedic timing, trajectory and aim.
Didn’t his knee go down during the catch?
He didn't have possession until his knee was up, perfectly timed
Also nobody touched him so he wouldn't be downed.
When I played in high school the rule was knee to ground regardless of contact.
Ya, unless that's changes, you are correct. College too I thought.
Correct. Only the NFL requires contact to be down iirc
Yeah, but doesn’t a knee have to be down with possession? Like if you slip right at the snap, you’re not down for the rest of the play right?
Correct. And since he doesn't have possession here until his knee is up, he's good to continue advancing the ball.
That doesn't apply in typical high school rules, however he got up before possession of the ball, so it's a good catch.
Pretty sure that's just an NFL rule, though I could be mistaken. It's definitely not a rule in college football, where you're down as soon as any part of your body other than your hands hits the ground.
college and high-school rules also.
This isn’t the NFL lol
It looked like he gave it one little jumble after he stood up. Way to fool the ref, kid!
doesn't matter, once the knees are on the ground, you cant just get up and take of running. so no, they didn't get a touchdown.
You have to have possession of the ball when it touches to be down. At least that’s how it was when I played in high school like 8 years ago.
Close range tracking: 99
They all have like the same jerseys and helmets on then there’s a random dude with a black helmet . Weird
I can solve this riddle. When I was a kid I had a tremendously large head. (I still do, but I used to too.) They had to order a helmet just for me and this other kid. We had to bat distant from each other in the line up to avoid needing the helmet at the same time. (But first and last also wouldn't work because of the wrap around.)
I strongly suspect this helmet was a late addition.
Wth
Thats what happens when parents buy the equipment. There is always one parent who either didn't get the memo or think that it helps their kid stand out.
Likely a practice or something with everyone on the same team
I thought the wrong team caught it for a second and was going the wrong way. Those colours are so close.
Sign him to the real titans he’s already got the helmet and they need a good hands receiver
Surely a clean catch would be better, but fumble and recover is also a good talent to have.
Sure, but the fumble is caused by the cornerback knocking it
Thats not a fumble
I mean... its not a fumble by football rules but he is literally fumbling
Words matter
Without the aid of sticky gloves too
task failed successfully
His name is 🧈ButterFingers 🧈
Looks “bumbling” to me but cool he held onto it eventually.
As a person from the UK, where Rugby is the closest we have to this. I can't help but feel like a clean catch would be top talent. This looks messy and I'm not sure how he wasn't taken out
Agreed
It was a terrible catch because he nearly dropped it, but it was a very impressive save.
Still wondering why it’s called football…
As opposed to most other sports, you have to use your feet a lot while playing it.
americans made a ball... which was a foot long... so they named it football
This.
Um… Isn’t this pretty much the exact opposite of an awesome catch?
Holy hell
Is it just me or does the helmet need a redesign?
double knees on the ground, he shouldn't have kept running. smh.

Get a load of this guy
So those look like weird shoes to anyone else?
They’re called football cleats
Good job buddy !
Should add this to the Walk of Life music video by Dire Straits.
Hot potato
That final small juggle was the kicker
Is he in the NFL yet? This video is old AF.
On a flea flicker too. That play has legs.
Lynn Swan Jr.
Had to play hot potato real quick
“That’s my boy!!”
Little giants
Damn😮
Hey, don't really know much about american football, but isn't one of the rules that you are not allowed to throw the ball forward? Only to the side or to the back?
Edit: I may be stupid, I think what happened here was that the ball was not intended for the kid, which would mean the other team were throwing the ball back. It's not my faut both teams have the same colored uniforms.
No that’s what separates American football from like rugby. You can throw forward one time
Ball was definitely intended for that kid. The quarterback can throw the football forward from behind the line of scrimmage.
Pinball champion, right there.
I have no idea what the rules are, what would happen if he dropped the ball?
The other team would have then possessed the ball, thus making the chance of getting a touchdown even harder.
Julian Edelman catch vibes
It was also a pro move to do that one last (likely) unneeded bobble to ensure that his knee wasn’t down that the time he obtained possession so he could get a TD out of it.
Knees were down...?
He didn’t have possession when his knees were down. He was back on 2 feet when he finally gained possession.
Can the ball not touch the ground? Sorry I’m not familiar with football
Damn dude, you didn’t have to juggle the ball and embarrass them like that lol. One hell of a catch though 10/10
that back catch was impressive
Good job not letting it hit the ground but it doesn't belongs in this sub.
