Any one else look forward to Rays offseason?

Every year I love looking forward to seeing what kind of value the rays can get in trades dumping guys who are high value that are starting to cost big bucks netting some really interesting return.

I'd like to say that constantly trading guys that have hit a peak keeps me more interested in rays baseball because then I got all these new prospects and players to learn about and see grow.

The rays front office is like how I would play Out of the park baseball simulator. Constantly finding guys that are undervalued seemingly out of nowhere.

Excited to see if the rays go and deal arozarena or Glasnow and what they can massively get on a return. I think both of those two would command a high price and would reload the rays farm system and probably get some major league ready talent ready to break it in the bigs.

Randy will probably be with the Rays for a couple more seasons before they think about dealing him. He isn’t expensive and he performs. They’ll trade him before he looks for that big contract.

Glasnow probably won’t be back for ‘24. The front office is pretty good and putting together a competitive and winning team without spending a bunch of money.

Randy is a Rays in ‘24. I don’t seem him as a trading piece unless the Rays are not in the run come trade deadline.

Randy is our only guy who performs in the spotlight. I feel like he's very important if we wanna try for a ring next year, I'd be pretty wrecked if we traded him but I know it's the Rays way. I'm mainly looking forward to opening day again.

To be honest no, it's one thing that bugs me about being a Rays fan is losing so many guys so often just cause we can't pay anyone.

That’s what keeps the Rays as a consistently good team, though. They don’t get trapped under bad contracts and maximize their players value.

Take Longo, for instance. Everyone loves Longo. I love Longo. The Rays paid him a little over $50M for a little over 50 WAR. Then the Giants paid him $80M for 7 WAR.

Or maybe the Rays should’ve gone after some of the big free agents this year. Like Xander Bogaerts (4 WAR), Trea Turner (3.6 WAR), Carlos Correa (1.4 WAR), or Carlos Rodon (-0.8 WAR). Every one of those guys was paid over $27M this year and is on the wrong side of 30.

I look forward to it mostly cause I enjoy playing GM modes on The Show and other sports games so it's interesting to see when real life imitates the trades I make, it's fun actually winning Chips doing it "The Rays Way".

I'm pretty sure the Rays statement on spending up to 100+million this year is just posturing to retain leverage in trades but we'll see, I'd love to be pleasantly surprised and see them actually spend money for once.

I don’t like this formula. I know the Rays are good at it, but I don’t think it will ever pay off in the postseason. We need to invest in a strong core for the long-term and continue to build from our strong farm system. I hate our ownership. I know it’s wishful thinking and won’t happen.

I say this with the utmost respect for the Rays as my hometown team, but they are like a perpetual start-up company that hopes to get acquired every year. Yes you can get the young hungry ones who have a few years of productivity but no one around here is going to be happy until they win a WS. Those teams have money, yes, but they also have confidence that may not come here for a several more years. I love baseball, I'm not a fairweather fan so I can roll with the ups and downs and enjoy any game, any time of year. I love our players, their diversity, their joy and grit, but it's not going to be enough until they find the magic. Such is baseball. I honestly would watch the sh*t out of a Rays underdog movie with randy, siri, yandy, goofy random white guys, cash, etc but no one is making that until the WS win comes lol.

Hoping catcher is a priority in the off-season. No idea who’s available but would love to see us get a solid hitting veteran who plays strong D. Besides that, I don’t really see any other holes in our starting lineup (fingers crossed on wander).

I'd love to have seen us have another solid 1st baseman. If we could have kept Choi last yr would have been great. Yandi is the man but when he was out for injury or rest it was ugly over there.. just adding to the the wishlist.

Heck yeah! They’ll get some good value! They’ll be the most efficient first round losers in the league for sure! It’s all about wins per dollar! Corporate baseball is the best baseball!

Playoffs is a crapshoot look at the dodgers. Depends if your guys are hot or cold come playoff time.

I’d love to see some controllable big league level returns not teenagers for a team trying to win now. Expect the unexpected and trust the Rays process.

My opinion call me delusional if you want. There will be a small Randy extension aka arb buyout. Ohtani will sign with Tampa or at the minimum Tampa will have finished second in signing him

I'm a sucker for the hot stove. So the off-season is always a chance at new exciting developments on the team. But after '23 idk -- I've got less excitement about this hot stove
