I am an iron4 rell otp but people here force fights randomly which I can't help enough costing us to lose the game. Seriously when does people start to take advantage of engage supports by waiting for them to engage first for example? Or don't engage on a fed enemy when support isn't there?
In what rank do people start to utilize engage supports correctly
DiscussionDraven/zilean "omg why wont leo go in" as if getting cc chained with an enemy draven is a good idea 🤮
What rank are you now?
Just hit emerald
My question might come across backhanded I don’t mean it to be the case.
But why are your team in a position to engage but you as engage support aren’t?
I was going to baron to ward but my team doesn't start taking it? Or after dying in a teamfight?
Warding objectives doesn’t mean you have to hit it immediately though
Which is why that was given as a situation in which their team was able to engage, but the support wasn't, was it not?
But they never touch it! NEVER!
Yeah, I mean it’s cuz it’s Iron 4 and I’ve been there. If you can find someone to duo, might be a good idea to climb out of Iron.
They still don’t in masters… I’m a support main btw.. it’s me I’m the problem
Not to be mean, but getting to iron 4 is actually kinda hard it means 99,99% of the player base is better then you are. Before looking at others in your team I would look at yourself
I know but getting out of it is even harder as a support
You can always switch to a carry until you pull yourself up to a more playable level
My mechs suck
You don’t really need mechs to get out of iron, tho. 👀
I played top and jungle to get out of the lowest elo.
Top, because I got tired of it being a coin flip whether my or their top laner went 5/0 and proceeded to be unstoppable and even though I‘m not an amazing top laner could just hold my own enough to level the playing field.
Jungle, because there I can apply my knowledge of the map, which I amassed as a support, and I‘m the one deciding which objectives to take.
Started playing Support main in silver again, with jungle secondary, as people there - at least theoretically - know the very basics and I felt like I could impact the map as a support better again.
But also, if your mechanics suck… why do you main Rell, one of the most mechanically difficult supports in the game, instead of something like Nauti or Leona, who basically do the same thing but more reliable if you don’t have hands. 👀
Also those champs have the benefits that even in low elo ppl know what the champs do.
Rell is a mechanically easy chamion because of 2 short range point and click ability(I find short range abilities easier than longer ones because its easier to dodge long ones), 1 speed boost and 1 multiman cc ability which isn't point and click but the only hard part is when to engage. Now compare this to mid lane assassins
Yes, Rell isn’t Akali, I agree.
But she’s really difficult to play well and arguably even more difficult to play around - when compared to other engage supports.
Especially when compared to your original issue - Rell isn’t a great Champion to be late to a fight with.
Its the same rank where adcs care about the adc matchup as much as what their support does
So what rank?
Starts at Plat, dies out to at Emerald due to indifference, gets back at dia 3-2
Starts at Plat, dies out to at Emerald due to indifference, gets back at dia 3-2
Honestly theres kind of a sweet spot around plat 1, but it gets worse up from there and down from there, plat 1 seems to be peak adc micro/macro. Above plat 1 adcs tend to want to be aggressive no matter what and below the same, plat 1 the only place ive seen where adcs can find a happy medium and as a result supports have to pick and play defensively to avoid negative snowballs outside of that range
Its your job to be in a right place at the right time. I suggest using pings more and learning to recognise when fight is about to happen. In that elo its probably just 24/7 fighting so it can be rough.
Low plat kinda. I refuse to plat engage below that point due to the verbal abuse and terrible communication.
yo I just posted a video on here, I'm playing adc with a really good rell sup if you wanna watch it
Sure!! Where can I access it?
its in the sup mains channel!
People troll in every MMR.
how did you get to iron 4
I have demoted from iron2
I’m sorry but then it’s now your adc’s issue but yours..
Exactly... not the adc but the team in general because they love teamfighting
And that mindset is why you’re iron. 👀
Should I just ignore them? What should I do
Try to fill their screen with retreat and caution pings when you see them are about to ARAM. It's pretty much the one thing you can do. At least the enemy team will also pick dumb fights or be miss-positioned, which is great for most engage supports
From a fellow iron 4, if you play support and think you play it decently enough you probably have a good intuition of whatever play the enemy is making. Use that to your advantage, ping, type only useful comments (you see someone needs anti heal/you adc needs anti armor? Tell them). Most of the time, they’re just clueless and forgot about stuff you might remember and that could change the whole game. Just because your team is chasing one person it doesn’t mean you should follow them if there is something more important to do, try to make them understand when to stop, be the “leader”. Still, it doesn’t mean you will win every game but we all know how a small quick decision can change the whole outcome
From my observations, people always aram after early game which is actually my strong side as rell but one enemy becomes super fed that it takes at least 3 people to kill him so they crash the game by constantly winning teamfights. Btw I ping whenever I think my team is available to do what I say but it doesn't work
Of course losing is inevitable, but if only one of them is fed then figure out how to kill everyone else instead (it’s a malphite? Dont stay close and make him waste ult. Like, there is always something to do)
But the fed person being there makes it a lot harder because he can 1v5. Also even if we kill the other 4, this fed member will deal the remaining damage to kill all of us then end the game
You’re in iron. Chances he can actually 1v5 are about the same of you carrying the whole game while the team does nothing. One fed person means once you get them out of the way, all the enemies will literally crumble because they’re letting that one dude win for them. LoL is first a psychological game, the right mindset changes a lot
But when the fed person comes...
For me it started at around Gold 3 I guess. Before that as a Leona main my ADC always engaged without me or in very bad situations
