People that wear wide leg cargos. How?

After burning my new pants when riding my EXC for the first time, I decided to glass blast my exhaust and buy the CMT exhaust guard since it covers most of the exhaust and I thought I was good to go with an exhaust that finally stays clean. But you bet I was not and I managed to burn my (not even too wide) MX pants on the small spot between frame and heat shield. I am pissed to say the least. How are you guys doing that, especially on 2020+ KTM and Husqvarnas? Is it me that has such a weird positioning on the footrest or what am I doing wrong here? And by the way I‘d appreciate if someone knows a trick how to remove the stains without scrubbing my matte exhaust blank again. Appreciate your help!
