What happened to my sunglasses? I have been extremely careful with them. One year old Tom Ford’s.
Advice/Opinions/DiscussionIn the roof compartment, yes but not in direct sunlight.
hot temperatures can ruin the coatings on the lenses. And Tom ford don't use the best lenses, so they might be more vulnerable to hot temperatures more than others.
Thank you!!
No they can't as most designer lenses use the same heatproof tech as Carl Zeiss and all coatings can withstand 85deg cel heat
i own Carl Zeiss. Lenses. And the warrenty from the dealer wont replace them if they have been left in a car. I got told from the dealer that its a really bad idea to leave them in a car, and should not be in places above 60c for a long period of time.
So why do the thousands of frames I've heat adjusted for customers at 75-80deg come out fine? And these are all procedures followed by Zeiss, Optyl and AO representatives who visit my store on a weekly basis
are you heat adjusting the lenses? You aren't heating them for a long period of time.
You can't heat adjust lenses, whether it's glass or polycarbonate they're not made to deform, but most if not all lenses are flame/heat/shatter proof for practicality
This is a hard lesson to learn about fashion vs function. Get yourself some quality sunglasses next time.
Thanks!
Have you been in seawater or dropped these in a pool? Remember to always rinse them off in clean water if you do. Look into warranty if you can!
I have not. Thank you!
Just replace the lenses for proper quality and you won't run into this again. Have done this for many designer lenses.
Thanks!
You cleaning them with windex?
Nah fam, he’s using sandpaper by the looks of it 😯
Hahah, the cloth that was included
Try 2 Clean with "Ultraschall -Bad" have worked by my friend with His Rayban, Same blue color.
Dont know what the english word
you cleaned the fuck out of them
You can always replace the lenses. If you don’t need OEM lenses from the manufacturer, check out Fuse Lenses. I have purchased from them to replace my Oakley lenses and they have regular lenses, polarized lenses, color enhancing lenses, plus you can choose mirror lenses, non-mirrored lenses, etc. Just search up the manufacturer and the model number for the sunglasses and you can choose the type of lenses you want to get. I’ll include a coupon link for $15 off a purchase.
+1 for fuse lenses. I got custom lenses made for my frame and are 100% perfect
I've used Revant Optics for replacement lenses but only for certain models. I bought polarized lenses for my RB new club masters. Easy to install perfect fit
Have you been washing them with dawn soap and cool water? That is the only way to preserve glasses that are high maintenance. You also have to dry them only with a microfiber cloth.
The backside AR coat has worn off.
Likely the sunglasses were old stock when you purchased them. In other words they sat in a warehouse somewhere for 2-3 years before your purchase. It
Likely you also like to wipe your sunglasses very often and perhaps not with the proper microfibre cloth which doesn't help.
If you got them from an authorized dealer, you can try to claim warranty
If not then you enjoyed the savings you made by not buying at higher price authorised dealer and you can now use the money you saved to buy some OEM or custom replacement lenses.
This is what I was thinking. Thank you! These are the real deal and cost me 250 USD roughly (with discount/campaign)
Sweat, chlorine, soap, and/or saltwater damage. I’d guess you didn’t use a proper lens cleaning spray and/or cloth to clean them.
I wonder if these are knockoffs. I've only ever seen gas station sunglasses do this.
These are from an authorized place/dealer.
did you leave them in a hot car?
