I’m finding a commonality of female authors writing with anti-patriarchy undertones in many of my recent favorites. Read and loved this year—- A Woman is No Man I Have Some Questions For You Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow Girls Burn Brighter Annie Bot Bright Young Women
Any similar titles you’d recommend?
Here are some:
Ammonite by Nicola Griffith
I second the recommendation of books by Sheri Tepper.
Trouble with Lichen by John Wyndham. Not a female author, but he does a good job of writing women and sexism.
The Echo Wife by Sarah Gailey
Glory Season by David Brin. Not a female author, but he does a good job of writing a majority female society that tries to deliberately avoid the problems in patriarchal society.
The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood. This author is much more well known for the feminist dystopian classic The Handmaid's Tale, but The Blind Assassin is in a realistic setting and I personally feel it's more applicable to modern life.
