Seriously, the obvious team name is the “Bees”.
The arena AND fan base nickname is “The Hive”.
The team logo is a knock off of the state flag.
The mascot is is a trademark infringement of GT’s “Buzz”- edit (with some hockey themed gear for legalistic wiggling exemption).
Come On, Utah. Get your act together.
The news said they’re putting out a fan vote between the Utah Blizzard, Outlaws, Mammoth, Venom, and Yeti. The Bees are the minor league baseball team.
So two names taken from Denver lacrosse teams, one that is a snow-based natural disaster, and one name that’s uncomfortably close the alt logo yeti foot that the Avs have. They just can’t help trying to be Colorado I guess.
The Colorado Mammoth have one of the coolest name/colors/logo combos in professional sports IMO (super subjective, I know). I know very little about lacrosse but I buy up their gear on fanatics all the time, lol.
I went to one of their games when I was in college. You don’t really need to know jack shit about lacrosse to enjoy yourself. Pretty fun, kinda casual atmosphere. Tickets were dirt cheap, action was pretty constant, but the way indoor lacrosse works makes it pretty easy to follow. My favorite touch was the PA guy used music and his own commentary to troll the opponent a bit, playing artists like Guns N Roses and AC/DC when the Mammoth had possession, then switching to artists like Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber when their opponent had it.
