What can cause this? If I set the batteries in question to recharge. It then charges from the 4 connected hydro engines but then on auto it just drains and doesn't charge. Thoughts?
Batteries starting to not charge on auto?
HELP (Xbox)Won't charge the bases batteries unless the base batteries are set to recharge. There isn't enough excess power gen on the base to charge the batteries on the ship. Increase use of assemblers, refineries etc will use the power from the connected ship. It's better to either manually set the ship batteries to recharge (group on ship hotbar), or set up an event controller to do so.
Let me redirect the question to what causes them to glitch? I fully removed them and built new ones in their place and they are now charging fast at 12MW each without being set to recharge.
After fully grinding them down and adding new ones they work as they should. Must be a glitch because I have 12MA excess at all times to charge vehicles
Not enough energy producing blocks. If you are producing energy in excess of your needs, your batteries, on auto, will charge. Otherwise your batteries will try to fill the gap in energy needs.
These batteries are glitching nothing else that needs charging. My question is what causes the glitch because after completely removing them and building new ones they are charging without being set to recharge.
When you check battery info you have input power on the batteries and nothing is using them, zero output?
Because to power the h2 engines you would need to get hydrogen from somewhere, and that usually involves an o2/h2 generator?
Not an issue. The moment I put it on recharge there is 12MA/h available for Both batteries. But as soon as I put it on auto the charge fully disappeared.
I just completely grinded them down and rebuilt them and they started charging fast without being set to recharge.
From the Wiki:
Automatic: The battery charges itself if there is excess power on the ship, and discharges (provides power) if a block needs it.
Recharge: The battery actively draws power from other power sources including other batteries. The battery stops providing power.
So when connected to a base, Automatic will (I think) try to charge the bases batteries first
