My opinion is remove everything that is a reminder of slavery. They removed most of the statues in SC. But are replacing them with others. Makes no sense
Every little podunk in SC has one of those Confederate memorials that were put up (usually by the United Daughters of the Confederacy) during the rise of the KKK in the early 1900s. I remember passing through Cross Hill in Laurens County and seeing a big one there, even though it is barely a crossroads and has hovered around a population of 500 for the last 140 years. The American Legion in Spartanburg has a gigantic one, which seems ironic, since the Confederates were the enemy of American soldiers.
Well great! Everyone should be a Harriet Tubman!
