I like mine replaced the drip pan with a stainless steel one that’s easy to clean. Vacuum it out regularly and get a thermometer for it. Because it will have hot and cold spots and the temp it shows on the digital display was a little off from actual temps for me.
He gave us a stainless steel one but told us he actually collects it in a pickle jar. He told me to vaccuum it out every two cooks. AND he gave us a probe thermometer for it (I already have a thermapen but I'll never turn down a good thermometer).
See, that's what I was reading. This one might be old but it's built like a tank (very heavy, but it has wheels)--definitely not a cheap build. And he took absolutely immaculate care of the thing. There's not a spot of rust, it's as clean as anyone could expect a used smoker to be, etc. He clearly treated this thing with love.
