Ironically this sub is now littered by posts like this one which outnumber the kind of posts it's making fun of so you're definitely not making this sub any better.
Also none of the things in that comic are even contradictory really. It's almost like making fun of someone for wanting nanotech to cure their body when they can barely walk

It's funny that people sayings here is full of dunning Kruger then fail to explain why they think others are disillusioned for thinking AGI is coming fast. Still have to hear a good argument about that besides "it's too crazy to be true you're just on an hype train like any others"
It seems you've missed the nuance of my comment. Just because people think this sub has a large portion of people exhibiting dunning-kruger effect doesn't mean they still don't believe AGI or the singularity is going to happen. I'm in this sub for example.
It's just the assurance of how things will play out is so absurd that any sort of productive conversation is impossible because it's built on the premises of speculative assumptions as absolute certainties.
Oh, that's different. I'm only certain that it will happen, and faster than most expect, but I have zero idea on how it will play out. I believe the number of possible outcome to be nigh infinite
Exactly. I saw LLM models coming over 5 years ago. I just didn’t know “how” it will play out. I even speculated the worst outcomes. Now we’re here. And it was impossible for me to exactly predict how we use AI at this moment. Only maybe some abstract general concepts.
Sorry I tough you (and others on this sub) were just saying AGI and all of that is bullshit while you're only talking about people who are sure of their predicted outcome out of pure disillusion. Never considered that because I usually ignore those people, like obviously there's going to be a good chunk of those considering the time we live in and the fact that this has 2 millions plus people in it

You're acting as if these users exhibiting high dunning krueger effects dont revel in absolutely pure joy at the anticipation of people losing their jobs. It addresses the irony that these people mouth-watering at the idea of AI replacing high-level jobs, social interactions and content creators aren't participating in those areas in the first place. Consider yourself lucky that these people aren't as direct about addressing it. And yes, you wouldn't be a master of satire, because that joke isn't satirical at all... it's just a direct insult.
