It would've been great with Sean Bean as Harry. Instead we got a made up main character, just like fuckin Alice from Resident Evil.
And Dahlia as a good hobo mother.
Cybil was one of the only good characters from the actual game.
There’s no women empowerment in male leading roles
i think she was meant to emulate Heather from Silent Hill 3. its like they smashed all the games into one movie.
For sure but I always saw his character as being Harry that was just stuck outside of SH. He's even semi important in the sequel movie which is just a different take on SH3.
I feel bad for the VFX and set design teams in movies like SH Revelations and Doom. Like they seem to know the material and do a good job, then some goober in scripts and screenplays is like nah imma change it.
I think Rose is actually what makes the film adaptation more interesting. *
It helps convey the motherhood theme with a bit of a fairy tale quality by having three different "mothers" gravitate around Sharon : Rose is the good mother, Dahlia is the absentee mother, Cristabella is the "wicked step-mother". Without Rose, there would be no positive mother figure.
Ohh that’s a great take
Can't cast Sean Bean without spoiling the "in water" ending unfortunately.
Water ending = perfection ending for SH2, I hope Return to Silent Hill does it
if the ending of the movie is based off any ending in the game it’ll most likely be the leave ending :/ it just makes sense
Except Silent Hill 4 clearly states James never came home. So he never left Silent Hill, or he was dead before he even got there.
okay but if we’re going off of what would probably happen, it’d be the leave ending. i’m not saying that’s the one i want it to be, im just saying that’s the one i feel like they would do
In Water fan, but I wouldn't blame James for not contacting his father ever again considering how absolutely fucking weird he was.
also do you really think the movie is going to go through the lore of all games to make this? i wish they would but probably not
nah, in water does not fit with the narrative the game is trying to tell.
Sean Bean looks like a daddy.
a hot daddy
He actually looks more like Harry to me.
Just cast Sean Bean as all the main characters
Sean would rock Maria's outfit
Ah yes 65 year old James.
True. But fuck it. Good acting james 💪 💪 💪
Silent hill fans when they see a man with hair and a jacket:
It's either Seen Been or Shawn Bawn, the man can't have it both ways
Good luck explaining that to the Irish, Seamus, Sean, and a host of other names defying English sensibilities.
Let's pretend that Sean = A Pint of Ale while Bean = three fingers of whiskey. At what point do you just say, no da I wan hav too veech
I've been laughing at this for like Minute now. This brought memories of when I was like 16 and thinking this to myself.
If you tried to rewrite it as though James and Mary were together for twenty years, then I could buy him looking like this in his late 40's. Just a perpetually tired and haggard middle-aged man trying to cope with the loss of his wife of two decades after two and half grueling years of trying to find a way to save her from a terminal illness.
Looking like he hasn't slept in a long while, he's shaky and quiet, doesn't eat that often and probably drinks to cope with the pain. Just going through the motions at his working class office job, life feels empty and directionless. He feels lost and without purpose. Especially after doing what he did, even if he doesn't remember it then.
When he's about to crack entirely is when he receives the letter through a mailslot on his front door, this story taking place in the early 1990's, and decides to go looking for her even though he knows it can't be true.
Essentially playing to the story's major themes about trauma and how each person processes it. In this case, I think the "Leave" ending would be the correct choice. Making peace with the loss of his wife and what he's done.
Just something I came up with this morning in about ten minutes.
That was actually one of the reasons why he was cast as Chris in the movie. He kind of takes on the same role too at the end of Revelation. I think a lot of people were expecting the second movie to be a Silent Hill 2 type story where it was Chris looking for Rose. (mixed up the names lol)
To me he's Harry.
If only he'd give the games a try, since he seems to be of the few on production that didn't play them.
I just had a mini heart attack cause I just killed this man in hitman, he’s coming back to haunt me…
My favorite roles that Sean played are Boromir,Alec Trevelyan, Ned Stark and Richard Sharpe.
Konami should have done a reboot with him as harry. I liked the first movie, but second one looks is beyond shit.
Feel gassed that i live where sean bean was born
Sean Bean character from the first two SH films should have been Harry Mason, imo. I liked the first movie for what it is, but man it kind of suck the director just made his own OC protagonist and changed stuff instead of just adapting the first game faithfully.
