I think it played the middle ground too much. Horror is not my genre and this was perfectly tolerable which means it wasn't nearly good enough for actual horror fans.
I think you've heard very little because it really was just mediocre.
I think it's fine if you want something different for an X-Men related movie. One of Anya Taylor Joy's earlier movies.
It came out after Split which made me concerned about her career but fortunately Queen’s Gambit came out afterwards.
I liked Split, but it wasn't enough to further her career really. Glad she's doing well now and got picked up for Queens Gambit.
No, but her potential was visible from early on.
I enjoyed it. It's not the best story, but I thought it was very enjoyable. There's lotta groundwork and hints for Mr Sinister.
The CGI fucking is amazing. Mostly cause it kept getting delayed giving the VFX artists time to work
It's definitely not as bad as people make it out to be. To me it was an interesting spin on the Superhero genre and if it had any weakness it was that it tried to be two things: A horror film and a superpower film. It obviously started more as a horror but the studio probably said "no you have to amp up the superhero stuff so the film sells!" and we got this film that seems torn in two.
But Ana Taylor Joy as Magik is an inspired casting choice and IMO the film is worth watching just for her.
An issue I have, just as an X-Men fan, is that this film is nothing like the New Mutants. Yes, most the characters are there but they are in a setting and genre that doesn't really fit. It'd be like doing a Guardians of the Galaxy film but in the film noir genre and set in a grimy earth city. The genre wouldn't match a neither would the setting. We all know them as a outlandish space-fairing team, so a urban-noir setting/style just wouldn't match.
Could’ve been a good series. Not a good movie. The story was too condensed and would have very much benefited from long form story telling.
Depends on who you ask, but mostly it’s bad or mid.
Yeah, Rotten Tomatoes seems to think so too.
I don't trust rotten tomatoes
Good move. Critics and reviews are often rigged both in favor and against stuff made by big companies
I always see a movie I liked that is either favored by Audiences or by Critics and not the other. Kind of rare to see something liked by both.
Both in favor and against? If anything, it seems like indie darlings are the ones where critic scores generally don't align with audience. New Mutants fucking sucks regardless.
It’s better than Wolverine: Origins. That’s all I can say.
the one on the right has big boobs, so yeah it's pretty good
I actually enjoyed it more than logan atleast they were trying something new and different rather than making a safe block buster hit
How is Logan a safe blockbuster hit lol. It's pretty different from all the superhero movies, especially for its time.
I mean people expected Wolverine death and sad and slow paced movie thats all they did no risk no loss where even in other Wolverine movies they tried so hard even in the first one with deadpool
Im sorry but I honestly don't know what you're talking about
I can read and understand each individual word you wrote, but they don't make any sense together. I could make a more reasonable statement by banging my head against a keyboard 5 times.
All I know about this movie is that it stars the person who sang the theme song for Spirit: Riding Free
Bryan Adams?
“Gaaayyyy!”
-Senor Chang
Its also very exclusive, because I can not be lesbian
Why does the lighting look like a late 2000s Nickelodeon sitcom
Nonsense, no one's feet are in frame.
It would have been better if it was.
Why do they look kind of like genderbent Marshal and Lilly from HIMYM
They are Lesbian? Is that in Greece?
The New Mutants (2020) isn't new anymore, as it came out four years ago.
It wasn't even new when it came out, as it was meant to come out earlier but got delayed a few times
So Mila Kunis got with Topher Grace in the later seasons of that 70s show
By that rational the only reason straight person kiss is because they’re heterosexual.
Me kissing the homies (we’re all heterosexual so it’s not gay)
I thought they're American.
They're gay now?
Pics or it didn't happen.
The only redeeming quality was Anna Taylor Joy as Magik, otherwise I just couldn’t give a shit to these two nobodies.
I dint remember hearing them saying the are lesbians maybe they are good friends (I've never seen the movie)
I don’t get it
Terrible movie. O my goodness.
Eww, Isn't one of them a were-wolf.
Yes
Thanks for the info. I ways considering watching it, but I draw the line at bestiality. No matter how tight the dog-ussy is.
I bet you love The Boys.
I do, actually , but only because Homelander is literally me.
You like milk?

Is this movie any good? I liked the idea of mixing genres with a horror movie.
But I heard very little once it came out.
