wtf would elden ring 2 even be about
I mean you could have asked the same thing about dark souls but it became a trilogy, so idk they’ll figure something out if they must
The difference is that in Dark Souls 1 we are either rekindle the flame or make someone else do it for us
In Elden Ring we have 6 endings and it's not particularly clear as to how tie them together
Other then FF I don't really think any other ending is truly eternal like how Marika rule was spouse to be eventually just like dark souls some other age would begin.
Even for FF ending they can say that Melina Killed the lord of Frenzie like she said and after some time a new age started.
Turns out none of the endings matter cause the Greaterer Will shows up like a month later
Greater Will when I fucking burn everything down (fuck you, bitch, I'm frenzied flame lord)
Letting someone else do it for us only really became a thing with dark souls 2 as far as I know, I think it was partially an explanation to how there could be a sequel, it was a question that needed answering.
In dark souls 1, it’s very much “you either get another age of fire or you get an age of dark and become lord of dark”. Like at the time it was treated more like a permanent thing rather than a cycle, since there was no cycle yet.
Correct me if I’m wrong though, not able to look it up atm so this is by memory.
