Congrats! Grey is the way.
I’m currently thinking about a first grey purchase and I having some discussions there are dealers telling me they can get most anything I want in a couple of days. I get that they probably have ADs and flippers who get the call selling to them but how are they able to source that quickly?
All the grey dealers are in private chats and trade watches with each other. Remember, Rolex offers 1,360 different watches in the 2024 catalog, so the only way a dealer can be "in stock on everything" is because he knows he can turn to one of these chat groups and find one that way. These grey's put up photos on IG and on their sites to make it look like they are massive and have gobs of inventory, but they don't actually have the watches in stock. They just know where to go to get one in a day. People go to C24 and say "There are 900 Pepsi's for sale! They aren't rare!" and 90% of those listings are fake, those dealers don't have any, they are just trying to hook a customer.
The other thing to remember is that Rolex ships 19,000 watches per week. If someone wants "a Rolex", they aren't hard to get. But if someone wants a very specific Rolex, different story, they're only shipping like 200 Submariners weekly to 1,300 AD's and if, say, 20 of them find their way to the grey market, that's not really "a lot".
Ah ok thanks. They are telling me certain ones they have and others they would have to source but they say they could have pretty much anything in a couple of days. I’m just trying to learn as much as possible before making a decision.
Grey is the way. Just buy only from our trusted sellers and it's the easiest, most luxurious, and most uplifting way to get a Rolex. Cheers.
Going grey is for people who have no charisma and can’t make a salesperson like them. Have fun paying way above retail for no reason. I’ve never sucked off an AD nor dented my wallet by choosing to buy at retail. Just be a decent human being and you won’t have to wait too long
A. Going grey is for people with FU money. And our FU money comes from the charisma we use in the workplace to earn our millions. And buying a Rolex isn’t work for us. It’s our vacation.
B. Even VIP’s wait for their Rolexes. They wait days, weeks, or months. Grey buyers won’t wait a day.
C. You don’t have to worry about how rich people spend their play money.
D. You have no Rolex, Pokémon.
Millionaires don’t constantly post their seikos on reddit
This one does. So they do. And it’s decamillionaire, son.
Then why not just get any of the hundreds of AD’s to like you by just walking in and asking for a flex piece to get them to allocate you stuff at retail? Your logic makes no sense. And the majority of people on here are not millionaires so you are giving bad advice that doesn’t apply to them
Sorry to burst your bubble, but
