I weirdly enjoy watching curling despite not having ever played it.
As someone who has played it a few times, I highly suggest you do. It's a sport with a lot of "space" in it between shots so socializing is a big part of it.
There's also something incredibly cool when you take a shot and watch that gigantic stone you just threw actually curl down the ice. It always brings out that feeling of excitement that you have when you're 6 and just discovered you could make a wiffleball dance.
Eh, not for me lol. Socializing is hard to do, one of the reasons I love airsoft (my sport of choice) is that it's high intensity. Only thing you're talking about during the game is where your opponents are hiding.
i remember being 8 years old and watching the curling olympics with my cousin cuz we were 8 and that's what the adults were watching on tv. my cousin got so excited for it he threw up. we had never watched curling before nor did we ever watch any again.
Hence the brush?
The man knows his sport. 4 people per team, 2 team 8 total. That's a credible insult.
Honestly tho beer league curling is amazing. Most rinks have bars and itโs even less effort than softball. Super fun. Call me the 9th Canadian that would care ๐
My coworker is one of them. Nothing quite like listening to a 60 year old Cape Bretoner ramble on about curling with all the obscure meaningless terms and name drops at 7am on a Monday morning.
Scotland produces some good curlers. It's one of the few events at the Winter Olympics the UK ever gets medals in. That and skeleton, for some reason.
It's fun every four years when people take an interest in curling, then forget about it by the next week.
This is actually true though
