Go Pack
man they (bama) were on fire last night, the whole team was. estrada couldn't miss anything and nelson was just unreal and had spurts of beast mode that hurt.
rj davis couldn't the side of a barn last night and no one else had sustainable great play. cadeau hit a few shots early and then he went back to being a terrible shooter.
and why did ingram take that 3 in the last minute when he didn't have to! they wanted him to and gave him all the space while they all were waiting for the rebound.
Wasn’t it Withers shooting that 3? Also, Alabama didn’t panic when Cadeau made a couple shots. In fact, it probably helped the game plan a lot because it encouraged him to shoot more
you're right it was washington. my bad.
Stupid 3 to deal the loss.
yep... that wasn't good at all. and bacot missing a dunk. obviously it was more to it than just those two plays, but down the stretch points matter.
and not scoring for 5-6 minutes at the 2nd half opening... kinda knew how it was gonna go after that.
damnit.
RJ 1/11 in the first half...
and he was not much better in the 2nd. :(
and then a stupid and 1 foul on the other end. and then the shot clock violation when rj decided driving straight into 3 bigs was a good move to end the game.
When they settle into a flow and don’t just jack shit up left and right they are truly formidable.
And they lost Brandon Miller who is looking like a great pick for the Hornets.
Random question but so live on Lake Wheeler road? It used to be called Rhamkatte Road in the 1800’s
Random question but do you live on Lake Wheeler road? It used to be called Rhamkatte Road in the 1800’s
No, but glad you caught the reference! And there's a town of Rhamkatte or township (like Millbrook) ought that way somewhere IIRC.
Yeah intersection of Tryon and Lake Wheeler. Speculated to be a freedman’s community iirc. A good dozen houses left from 1870s -1930s and a couple old crude store buildings too.
Ah sweet map. I have several paper and scans of similar stuff but never seen that one.
Is it basically the area on the SW side of intersection where Sadie Hopkins St is?
So my understanding is a little different than the map you showed so what I say could be off. Tryon Road is the old Lord Tryin/Ramsgate road apparently but Elizabeth Reid Murray is quick to say there is zero evidence to support it. She said Rhamkatte was probably derived from just good old stray Tom Cats. I forget what map I saw but Rhamkatte proper was the Tryon-Lake Wheeler intersection. The real large community in the area was Macedonia which can be seen in very old maps as the intersection of Tryon, Macedonia and Yates Mill. The Sadie Hopkins Road area as well as everything back to that intersection was always Macedonia. Even Mid Pines Road has the Macedonia Cemetery in it. Obviously all of this is fluid and has grey areas
Well the map I posted still kind of confirms that. Churches were the center of town/village life in that era, and it shows those churches right near that intersection.
Yeah, I was impressed
I don’t give a piss about nothin but the Pack 🐺
NOTHING BUT THE PACK!🐺
I dont understand why the alabama player said he played hs ball in CH? When I was growing up northwood was pittsboro
Probably lived in that area of Chatham that has a zip of Chapel Hill. I know a ton of people from up there near Gov Club that went to Northwood. I’m pretty sure everyone considers that area Chapel Hill.
Ahh good point... forgot about gov club..
I used to bartend at the Preserve at Jordan Lake golf course. That neighborhood had a Chapel Hill address, and it was a thirty-minute drive from Franklin Street.
Would they not play other teams located in CH?
GO PACK 🐺
GOOO HOME CAROLINA
Oh no!
Anyway…
Roll Tide and Go Pack
Rent free.
Good luck tonight!
If we weren't in the sweet 16 I'd agree.
But your ACC Champs are. So no, this doesn't apply.
Go pack. 🐺
7-38 over the last 45, but enjoy that one!
Seriously, every UNC fan I know has been pulling for NC State this whole run, has been fun to watch. And I woke up to a million texts and DMs like this.
They can’t even take a joke. They care more about UNC than their own team. I even wished them luck tonight and they couldn’t handle that.
who’s the one who can’t take a joke…?
Thanks for proving my point. You won!! You don’t have to be mad!!! Smile!
I commented that before we won. Nobody in this thread is upset, besides you.
as soon as unc loses a game shit talking is suddenly off the table, yet we can’t take a joke. it’s a part of the sport bud, good luck next time.
Good luck Sunday!
Thanks!
I never thought I would find myself rooting for Alabama but ROLL TIDE.
no clue why you’re getting downvoted lol
It's okay, lol, an easy sacrifice. My extended family are lovely people, except in March when they are absolutely insufferable (they're all Carolina fans) and it's so nice having the tables turned. Easter's gonna be so fun, I cannot wait.
this sub is weird. so happy about last night. just hoping my blue devils can pull one out tonight
I'm a wake alum, other than recent history with how obnoxious everyone was about Flip's s lf-inflicted non-injury at our stadium, I don't really have much issues with Duke. Personally rooting for y'all as your win screws over my family bracket pool the most, since as stated, they're Carolina fans and had y'all losing pretty much immediately.
Oh no! Anyway.
I'm an Alabama (and Florida) alum and I just have to say Roll MF Tide!
To feel better, consider the comparisons between these two schools
-Alabama has appeared in 25 NCAA championships, UNC has appeared in 29 and won 2
-Charles Barkley is an Alabama alumnus and while he is great, the greatest athlete in the history of the world Michael Jordan attended UNC
-Alabama is ranked #170 of national university by U.S. News & World Report, UNC is ranked #22.
-Alabama is located in Alabama, UNC is in beautiful Chapel Hill, North Carolina
Barkley went to Auburn.
and UNC has 6 NCAA titles lol.
You should feel good. UNC made it to the NCAA tournament this year after not even being able to win an NIT game last year. They were able to hold RJ and Armondo back another year and buy in Ryan and Ingram to make sure they were playing 22-25 guys against a bunch of kids. Worked....until it didn't. But it's a big improvement over last season and it's a good bit better than what we will see from them next year (another NIT bid likely). Congrats on a good year for UNC.
Roll Tide!
I blame the defensive performance
Roll Tide
Great input.
Compelling and rich.
F A D E D
Well there goes one of my bets lol
SAME
lol why am I getting downvoted
Alabama is a machine. Wow, that was a stressful game
