I'm sure we've all been told we overreact. What's the best (i.e. worst) thing you overreacted to?
Here's mine: my NFather was always working on projects around our home, and one day he was doing something with the wiring outside on the deck. He brought me out there to show me the wiring and explain how we shouldn't touch exposed wires, and said this wire was not live and asked me to touch it I guess to get the non-existent curiosity out of me. So of course I do.
The wire was in fact live and it hurt like hell. So I yank my hand away and start crying and said it hurt and he said "uh no, it's off. You're just scared because it's a wire. Touch it again."
He made me touch it repeatedly despite me crying until he finally put a knee on the deck and felt it himself (he was wearing rubber boots). He then told me I was overreacting to how bad it hurt because it didn't hurt "that bad."
