I always try but I'm so broke that I can just never do it.
I reach 2000 calories very rarely, like once per month or every 2 months. I can eat cakes that ate full of empty calories but then I still feel hungry with those.

Eat more fat. high in calories, will help you feel full. make fried potatoes, eat sweet potatoes with butter. beans & rice and add oil or butter when you cook the rice. fried rice with veg and a little meat, use oil to fry it up.
⬆️PEANUT BUTTER!!
Seconding peanut butter! When low on cash and not having the immediate availability to cook a jar of PB and some apple is a good, affordable filler.
Fiber makes you feel full, not fat and empty carbs, wtf.
Carbs and fiber can make you feel full; fat makes you feel satiated, and the OP is looking for calories.
Most Americans don't eat near enough fiber. Fiber helps your body regulate carbs and sugar. I eat fiber, it doesn't necessarily make me feel full.
OP is looking to feel full, and incorrectly equating calories with feeling full.
Let's consider the possibility that the OP is accurately reporting how they feel and that for whatever reason, their goal is 2000 calories.
Fiber is also nutritionally empty. It just gets shot out your ass.
Potatoes are not empty carbs. Potatoes are actually extremely nutritious.
They're starch. Empty carbs. SUGAR. Fiber regulates digestion, keeps you feeling full over an extended period of time. Starch does not, it is broken down and stored as fat. A single medium potato is about 30 grams of starch, only roughly 4 grams of protein, and the highest nutrient value is vitamin C, and it's only about 15 mg.MG. Potatoes literally have a higher glycemic value than pure sugar does. I don't know where you got your info, but it's incorrect.
Yeah, you just need to Google the nutritional makeup of root vegetables.
Don't just believe what you're told.
I have, you should do it too
Fat makes you feel full much longer than simple carbs or vegetables. Think like brie, that is extremely satiating. I love vegetables and each then in massive quantities but I'm almost always hungry again within a few hours.
Don’t know why you’re getting down voted for the truth
I mean, some people like ignorance, I guess? There are a LOT of dietary needs/restrictions in my family, so, I've paid attention and actually learned this sort of stuff, and empty carbs and fat make you feel full for a very short amount of time, then are broken promptly down and stored as more fat on your body, they also play hell with your body's sugar regulation.
Oh I’m learning all about that having been just diagnosed with T2. Obese, high cholesterol 😂 it’s literally a food puzzle
Veggies, lots of veggies. Whole grains, complex carbs. A lot of keto bread and such is decent, but expensive, you also have to watch it for high fat content. I lost 20 lbs, dropped sweet drinks and outright sugar, and dropped my a1c from 13.6 to 5.1 in 3 months. Portion control is huge too, most people eat 3 or 4 x what a serving size should be. It's doable, and once you get used to the changes, you start feeling better, and craving the the carbs & sugar less and less.
Yeah I know I can do it, it’s just a huge change and my brain doesn’t respond well to small changes let alone big ones lol. My a1c was 6.7 so not horrific to start off with. But this might be the kick in the ass I need
I'm AuDHD, I understand about the changes completely. I'm glad you caught it early, much easier to get a handle on, and less risk any permanent damage has been done.
Proteins and fiber makes you feel full, not fat.
