I was thinking they would have extended the front tile over a bit so it would have hidden the hard edge on the right.
Am I wrong about this or is this how it’s normally done with ceramic tile?

I wouldn’t be happy with it. All sorts of unevenness going on. Grout is a mess. Bowing of tile. I think the face tile should’ve gone all the way up and the horizontal tile come to it to hide the edges while looking at it.
That top edge all across looks rough.
Looks right for the chosen tile. Grout could be better but looks pretty standard. The little tiles never look great on a spill over IMO.
It's bad tile work dude. You've got more problems than an ugly corner.
That spillway isnt working so dont count on the water covering it.
Ummm….no the tile on the top should have been tile a 1/4 tile back and the tile on the wall should have been brought up the wall almost level with the top tile. No offense but that looks like it’s from someone who’s never tiled before. The grout fills in the difference. Now you have a sharp edge on the tile. You might wanna put a first aid station right outside the pool.

Unless you paid for a miter joint this is what you get. More cuts = more money and cutting two 45° on every single tile is going to mean a LOT more cuts
