Asian Treats na napaka Mahal - 80euros all in all. Hanggang ngayon wala kaming mahanap na Tender Juicy Hotdog
🇪🇸SpainStrict yata ang EU meat regulations, kahit yung mga Chinese sausage na nabibili ko made in France or something. Probably not worth it for TJ to get certified.
you are correct, EU has strict regulations regarding not just agricultural imports but meat imports as well, for instance American chicken or poultry is banned in the EU due to the way it is washed by American producers, meanwhile agricultural produce has heavy tarrifs from importing outside EU in order to protect EU farmers, because lower prices of produce will hurt them.
For instance (slighlty different topic) there is also a law in the EU that if its a specialty in one region lets say, the Parmegianno Regianno in Italy, all Parmegianno produced in the EU only comes from this region, if its produced from somewhere else it has to change its name,
I first noticed this when I was in Billa and all Parmegiano cheese says it was imported from Italy 😂 (im from central europe) likewise majority of vegatables here are imported from Spain as well (such as brocolli and stuff) and Italy.
To add to that, I think there are ingredients/additives in the hotdog that are banned in Europe. A lot of ingredients are banned in Europe so most companies (including American) reformulate them.
definitely, i think its probable one of those ingredients were food coloring haha, american groceries are shit, like its full load of sugar (i forgot the exact name, but it was derived from corn) and that kind of sugar is highly unhealthy and addictive, its really prominent in america, and im pretty sure those will be banned immediately in the EU 😂
Yes. Food colorings are banned. American products are filled with high fructose corn syrup which is bad for the health. So I do always check the ingredients before buying them. Because of this, most of the imported foods that I buy (though not a lot) does not originate from USA.
Samin sa Canada walang TJ rin or yung mapupula. Something about food coloring I guess?
I'm in Canada right now. Been to different cities dito pero hirap pa rin humanap, or di ko lang maabutan na may available? Been to other countries too and damn, ang hirap talaga humanap ng tj. Meron pala sa marketplace????? Whaaat.
Edit: meron nga!!!!! Never ko naisip to gawin. Thanks fellow redditor.
Pwede ba tigilan na yang TJ. As if Pula makes it delicious.
Its not the red color though, at least for me.
Kpg may nakalusot, sobrang mahal ibenta haha
In Malta, here’s the govt notice about many Filipino chips. https://www.gov.mt/en/Government/DOI/Press%20Releases/Pages/2024/03/28/pr240511en.aspx?fbclid=IwAR3eUAVx8Eo39wL5Mk9lMdHna77lFf5jvpWeW8PTK1dgWdtqz4WzHhb7teg_aem_AYv3IBLtVn05rCrNqrYG9vaUWhiCTNcwJcuF8RmyqSrKdBzOSusvyq3yau0zepWrDxQ
Good. Time to avoid processed food now that you are on a place with better and fresh choices .
True, we only drop by asian supermarket every few months.
I saw some PF hotdogs in Tetuàn, Madrid for 25 euros and there was a guy in FB who tried to sell it for 50 euros!
Daheq ang layo ng madrid pero 25euros is too much!
It’s considered a rare item! Hahaha
Highway robbery. I think I'll stick to the homemade stuff that's available for only €7, or I'll just have my Tender Juicy Hotdog fix when I'm back in the Philippines.
Believe it or not it gets sold out pretty fast. I have tried the homemade ones and it’s okay to satisfy the cravings.
I believe you but in a community not exactly known for having a lot of money I have to wonder who is that person who's willing to shell out €50 for a pack of authentic Tender Juicy Hotdogs. Even though I can afford to shell out that much for nostalgia I'm not keen if I have to pay up the wazoo for it.
Canada doesn’t have Purefoods TJ either. Parang sa US lang yata siya available.
Sa Canada, as far as I know parang di allowed yung red na food colour na gamit sa TJ hotdogs.
wala din halos sa US. mahal ibang TJ ung meron and napakamahal ng original. afaik, di daw approved ung ginagamit na ingredients.
I live I t he US Midwest, our TJ hotdog either comes from a plant in California which tastes very different, or air freighted directly from the Philippines. The latter is really expensive lol 35 usd for 1 kilo ata?
Yung regular tender juicy dito sa AU, 8pcs $11 around 400 pesos tapos di naman ganun kajuicy. Iniba ata yung ingredients to pass regulations
Same pag nagpupunta ako sa Asian store (isa lang ok around 45 mins from where I live) umaabot rin ng 100+ lalo if ai buy a sack of 5 kgs jasmine rice.
Try costco for rice!
Yung tender juicy namin iba 🤣 https://filokart.com.au/products/tender-juicy-hotdog-regular
You should try the costco one
Pero same ba lasa?
Let's say imitation. Pwede na if you're looking for Filipino hotdogs. Iba yung texture nun red skin nya to our purefoods.
Ngayon ko lang narealise may logo ni made in aus at lower right. Never really notice it whenever I buy them.
im in uni at may asian store malapit dito samen pero sobrang mahal na the only time nakaka kain ako ng mga processed filipino food is pag umuuwi ako kila mama hahaha.
Tender Juicy Hotdog and Purefoods corned beef. AHAHAHAHAHA lentek na yan lagi ako nagdadalawang isip if I would buy these two pag nasa ph or asian mart.
Surprise takaga once you pay. Never again hahahahah.
There's an Asian supermarket chain din called Amazing Oriental sa Netherlands. But they're definitely cheaper kesa sa mga "Pinoy store".
Are Asian groceries significantly more expensive in Barcelona than in Madrid? €80 is way too much for the items you bought.
Anyway, if you’re in Madrid my neighborhood Filipino store (Charmaine’s Tiendecita) has their own TJ-style hot dogs for €7 as pictured below, or if you want the non-homemade stuff it’s €7.50.
Lol. Diaspora tubo is real
Ndi ba mahilig sa sausages spain?
What's this obsession with this one sausage? Find a replacement.
(Fyi, other nationalities tend to also have their weird favorite sausages haha)
San to sa europe OP?
Dude, wurst tastes good. Learn to like what's around.
In the first 3-4 months.
Spain, in barcelona
Bakit ba ganon, ibang Pinoy hotdog yung nasa Asian store, waaaaa
