Howdy!

I have cooked literally over a ton of Q over the past couple of decades in my Kamados. It's been primarily pulled pork and brisket cooked over lump charcoal with mainly apple, pecan, and mesquite chunks for smoke.

A couple of weeks ago, I picked up an older Traeger Lil Tex 22 at a yard sale. (At $30, I couldn't pass it up.) It needed quite a bit of cleaning and some repainting from an apparent grease fire, but overall, in pretty decent shape. I bought a cheap bag of oak pellets, made some great burgers as a test run, replaced the ventilation fan after it died while grilling some pork chops, and it looks like it's going to be a keeper. :)

A guy near me sells Lumber Jack and has the following available:

  • Supreme
  • Competition
  • Char Hickory
  • Pecan
  • Fruitwood
  • Mesquite

I want to grab two or three bags for smoking and grilling. Any recommendations or favorites among the ones listed?

Thanks!
