Photo of 'smiling' black bear looking over Pasadena becomes hit on social media
can I pet that dawg
LOL can I pet that DAAAAAAWWWWWWG
I wanna pet that dawg!
No you can’t pet that dawg!
that dawg
is sleeping
He loves living here as much as we do!
I wonder if this is the same bear seen around Altadena and Sierra Madre recently. Or are there multiple 🤔
There are definitely multiple. There were lots of cubs last year and the mama bears have taught them the art of knocking down trash cans.
Multiple they are all over the foothills.
This bear is happier than 99% of humanity.
They lookin over altadena lets be real
I’m friends with the photographer, check out cougarmagic.com
lol why did I think this was a selfie?
It is motion activated but the person setting these fancy dslr motion cameras is very much the photographer, it’s a lot of work
Showed this to my gf and she called him handsome
Why friend shaped if not friend?
Bears make best pets! So snuggly!
Do not be fooled by that smile. He is a godless man-eater.
Exactly why do people think this expression looks like a smile.
Imagine what a frown looks like upside down.
Attributing seeming facial expressions in animals is called anthropomorphism.
So if you’re actually asking why people anthropomorphize, then the answer would be related to human perception and motivation. It’s really interesting actually if you wanna look into it more! I think most people understand that although the “smile” looks similar to what we see on a human face due to the mouth shape eyes / etc, it’s not communicating the same thing or is the same thing. It can still bring joy to people though and yes many may refer to it as smiling.
You didn’t ask why people are anthropomorphizing the bear, you asked why people think this LOOKS like a smile… and that’s because it does.
I believe in Dog.
Because he is smiling. He just came from my house where he picked up and tossed my bear proof can and popped it open and had a feast.
I hope this bear has a great weekend.
