Hi there im moving to canada soon to study in ottawa and i wanted to know what are the best jobs or activites for to do to make quick good amount of money as a student so i can pay off a bit off my tuition fees, also what are some important and helpful information that i should know when i arrive to canada and what are some shops and things i should know since im a bit of a cheapskate. 😅

Hey, just a heads up, there’s a housing crisis in Ottawa and people are feeling lots of angst. Some people are not very receptive to students coming in from abroad as they are adding to our lack in housing. I know you’re also adding to our economy as you’re paying tuition which our schools need to survive as our provincial government has frozen post high school funding for years now. Canadians and by extension people in Ottawa are still some of the most accepting people on earth when it comes to people moving here but I thought you should be aware that things are a bit hard these days and this has created some push back on foreign students. Canada has a housing supply shortage, made worst with air bnb, so finding rentals has become a big challenge especially if you don’t make a lot of money.
Air BNB is 0.5 per ent of housing, a scapegoat that wouldn't change much.
Yes you’re right in terms of % but that’s still would add 2300 dwellings back to long term rentals that could be used by about 4,000 people. Every little bit helps.
