Watching Professional Golfer Bryson Dechambeau Stop And Make Adult, Who Stole A Golf Ball Meant For A Kid, Give It To The Kid
Dude knew he would be in trouble, look how far back he ran.
would be hard to pretend like you didn't know it wasn't meant for you when immediately after catching the ball, you started running away.
I bet that hardened Dechambeau's reaction to him, too. Someone makes a mistake and you might give them both a ball. You see a guy trying to get away with it and that turns it into a scolding.
I have always said of clips like this in baseball: I honestly don't blame 99% of the people who catch the ball in front of a kids face. The fact is everyone gets excited and everyone has tunnel vision and it's natural to grab the ball.
What matters is what happens once you catch the ball.
Cheer, be proud, then give the ball to the kid.
Or you’re saving that kid’s face from getting whacked (you see it in hockey too). Yes, give the kid the ball, good karma will come around.
I wouldn't steal a ball from a kid, but if I caught one I might not give it away. Spent my whole life trying to get a foul ball, that kid has plenty of time.
If I caught a homer or foul that was hit by my team I would keep it. Especially since as a kid my family could never even afford those seats. If it was from the other team I would toss it to a kid.
If it was a ball tossed in to the crowd by a player or the ball boy I wouldn't even go for it.
Yeah in this case the golf ball was obviously intended for the kid directly, but I don't understand anyone insisting that if you catch a home run you have to give it to the nearest child.
Like the first comment in the chain about this was "catch the ball in front of a kids face" and then I totally agree, I've seen really egregious cases happen in clips and if it was literally something the child was about to catch themselves and you reach out and grab it before they could because your arms are longer, you basically stole it at that point. But other people in the comment chain are going WAY farther. If the ball landed in your glove over your own head (or in your lap or whatever), it's fucking yours. You wanna give it to a kid because you're not gonna do anything with it, fine. But you wanna take it home to remember the game? That's also totally fine! If it went to you, it's yours.
Edit: when I was a kid I was in a group of my parents' friends at a game where my sister and I were literally the only kids nearby (next youngest was like 30, we were 12 & 11), it was the type of minor league game where the batters were a lot better than the pitchers so the balls were flying and one of the people in our group caught one. I was two seats from her but at no point did it ever even cross my mind that I wanted her to give it to me (if I had caught it myself I would've kept it though, I didn't not care), kids don't need charity, just don't steal something from them that they had good reason to think was going to be theirs (ie if it was literally heading directly for them)
no still, if i happen to reach over a kid, sorry little one. still mine, try harder next time. too old for this others people kids shit!
I would never steal a ball or keep a ball that I caught from any kid that was generally near me. But you best believe I will jump off their heads to be the one to catch that thing. They can have it after of course, but I’m gonna catch that thing. If the unsatisfied high school athlete deep down inside of me needs anything, it’s stuff like that.
There's still a big difference between happening to catch a foul ball and grabbing one specifically intended to go to a kid.
Catching a home run is different because it’s fair game for whoever catches it. Although it would be a nice gesture to give the ball to the kid nearby, there’s no harm or foul in keeping a home run you caught. Here the golfer was specifically intending to give that ball to the kid and this weenie up and snatched it and tried to run. That’s pretty disgusting behavior out of a grown ass man.
Yeah catching a homer is up to chance and it's a cool piece of memorabilia. "A player tossed a ball at a group of kids and I snagged it" is lame.
I think that you are right some of the time. I know people can get excited and just act out of instinct, "oh, he is walking up and throwing a ball. I want the ball. I will catch the ball"
But There are also a lot of times when people get overly competitive for one reason or another, be it greed because they want to resell, feeling like it should be theirs because they are the bigger fan etc.
Then there are for sure the people who just want to catch the ball, and are happy to give it to the kid or someone near them that they think will love having the ball more.
And all three of these types have videos on youtube that i have seen.
At a game last season, I snagged a ball that nearly took my head off while eating a hot dog on a picnic table in a patio area. Had earlier passed by a kid telling his dad how much he wanted a ball when I was walking out for a smoke, so I walked over and gave it to him. He was stoked as shit, and the next time I passed by them, he flagged me down to play catch with him for a few minutes.
A kid getting a ball will mean drastically more to them than some scuffed up ball from a game you don't remember that sits on your desk at work gathering dust.
If a player throws the ball to a kid, for sure, if I catch it off a bat that ball is mine.
There have been an unfortunate number of incidents caught on camera where an MLB player tosses a ball into the stands after a 3rd out. Clearly intended for a kid, where an adult grabs it. Infuriating.
So, my first concert was Iron Maiden in 87. It was their Somewhere in Time tour, I was 9 at the time. I sat on my older cousins shoulders their entire set, he was about 6’2”. I sang along with every song and rocked out as best as 9yo could. At the end of the show Bruce Dickson the leader called out, “ for the youngest metal head in the house”, and proceeded to throw a drum stick my way. Some douche caught it instead and tried to keep it for himself. The crowd was not having it and I got my drum stick. With a little bit of forceful encouragement. I unfortunately lost at some point over the years. But it’s still one of my fondest childhood memories.
Eh catching a baseball home run is different, it’s not intentional like this.
What about the adults that were kids and never caught a ball?
Who’s got more time left to catch a home run?
Yeah, I get spur of the moment snatching at a tossed ball response but him immediately running back indicates he knew that the ball was mean for the kid and wanted to avoid a pissed off dad situation. What he did not expect was getting called out by the golfer himself and had no way to weasel out of it.
What you would expect from a coward
I expect him to keep running, all the way to his car and just drive straight home.
If I had become the bastard of the situation, I don't wanna also be staying behind and get scolded for how big a bastard I was... Lol
Nah he knew he was busted and didn't want his face all over Twitter.
I hope this guy cringes at this moment for the rest of his life
Bryson is a unit
Ugh and the camera angle sucks again can’t get a decent view of the feckless bastard.

Surprised he ran back after not caring about stealing from a kid in the first place.
Coward, I would have kept running 😂
How embarrassing..
People like that dont feel embarassement. No shame.
When I was around 14 I went to a professional baseball game and a middle aged guy literally took a foul ball out of my hands. Incredibly pathetic to fight an actual child for a ball.
Happened to me too when I was 10 with a tshirt they shot out of a cannon. White trash dad behind me yanked it out of my hands and gave it to his kid. 20y later I still remember what he looks like.
when i say i hate people, that white trash idiot is who i'm talking about
As an adult I would never dream of putting myself ahead of a child for a foul ball, or home run at a stadium, but I can't help but empathize a bit for some of the adults in that situation. Some of those guys have been waiting to catch a ball since they were that little kid too haha.

I'm aroused by knots.
My wife thinks it weird, but I ask her not to kink shame.
We talking ropes or dogs here?
Yes
You made me Mugsy laugh.
"You never know if you don't try!"
Yes dude, you do know it is physically possible to take something from a child but morals should prevent you. Morals be lacking!
If he had no shame, he wouldn’t have stopped running.
♬ The guilty don't feel guilty, they learn not to. ♫
My exact thoughts. Just imagine having to be called out like that.
"I'm sorry... I was caught."
Maybe for us, but I bet that mofo has no shame at all.
1) Absolutely LOVE Bryson for doing this!!
2) And, that so called "adult"?? How pathetic!
I’ve been that kid plenty of times. You wouldn’t believe how many adults fight their way to the front for souvenirs.
My step-brother caught a pop fly at a cardinal’s game from pujols and needed security afterwards. Fucking wild
Man when I was in elementary school, Pujols was considered a GOD among us kids in a rural school an hour outside of Stl lol
There was nothing like that straight up bat and the toe tappin dance he did in all the video games.
But yeah, growing up I remember the transition from Sosa/McGuire, to Bonds, then to ARod and Pujols, everyone had a favorite hitter.
And then there's me, wondering how Cleveland had Manny Ramirez, Rodriguez, Kenny Lofton, Omar Vizquel, Albert Bell, and didn't win a World Series.

You’re right. But you didn’t snake the ball out of some kid’s glove for your kid. And hopefully you didn’t clobber some middle schooler to get there first.
i feel like that's a completely different scenario and i hate that they tried to force you to give that away
i wouldn't have done it out of spite because of those people honestly
Took my son to an Offspring concert when he was 11. He was moshing the whole time and really holding his own among people 3x his size. At the end of the show they called him out specifically and tossed him drum sticks and a beer cup with the Offspring logo on it. Some shmuck jumped up and grabbed the drumsticks out of the air and then bolted. They told us to hang out and went and got more for him and actually signed one of them so it worked out but I was livid for a minute when it first happened. It was 100% clear they were for him.
So sad! But, yeah, it did work in your son's favor with the "autograph"! Kudos to that kind and generous band:)
I've never done anything like that, but as an adult I can kinda understand. When I was a kid we didn't have money to attend baseball games or golf or anything of that nature, so I never had the opportunity as a kid to get those souvenirs. If I have a legitimate (non-asshole) chance to get one as an adult, I will.

I feel like I'm on a page of hired SEO goons or bots.
He was sprinting to put that up for sale.
You sure about that? It's not like Bryson signed the ball. That guy will have no way to prove that it was Bryson's. Let say he sticks it up on eBay. It won't stay up long because people will report it & request verification that it was Bryson's. Maybe Facebook Marketplace but again, someone will request verification.
What he'll do is brag about the ball & tell people Bryson gave it to him & he'll get his, maybe, 2 minutes of fame.
"Oh, that's cool." so really about 2 seconds of indifference.
I know sometimes there are these clips of kids bieng put in place but imo adults being put in place is a lot more satisfying
E: spelling
kids are just stupid. adults know better
When I was like 4-5 Somebody gave me an Autographed something from Roger Staubach. I had no idea who it was and said hey Uncle Paul! You want this?
Not dad? Not Batman? Dispose
No they don't. Adults are just as stupid, if not moreso, because they SHOULD know better but do stupid shit all the time.
Yes, they SHOULD know better
Kids are kids, and learning they are not stupid
Kids that are still learning inherently lack knowledge. I know we all often use the word stupid in an insulting way. However, by definition, until kids learn, they are stupid. Unfortunately, some never learn and just remain that way.
My wife was watching some Hawaii home renovation show and this husband and wife bought a house in awful condition to flip. Their framing contractor had done an absolute shit job and there’s a scene where the wife dresses down this big contractor for doing terrible work and taking no pride in it etc. And I was just like: “Yes! Accountability!”
Being
Imagine being a grown ass adult and sniping a ball you KNEW was being thrown to a kid.
And then running away
Coz he knew the kids dad might beat his ass. Should have beat his ass anyway
It happens a lot at sporting events, sadly. Happened to me as a kid at a hockey game 30ish years ago. I must have been 5-6 and I still remember the sinister laugh the woman had.
Damn same. NHL game up in Michigan around the early 2000s, they had those T shirt launchers, my brother and I were the only ones in an area aside from some old dude a few rows ahead. They finished launching out big sizes and started launching kids sizes, directly aimed at me and my brother. Old dirty bastard a few rows ahead stood straight up and reached far back to stop us from getting it. I asked him directly why he wanted kids sizes shirts, he said he was going to give them away to someone else.
It's been a good 20 years or more and I still remember that shit. Is it that hard to just let little kids have things?
They did a punishment joke about this on a show called impractical jokers. Joe and a baseball player purposely sniping a ball from kids intentionally with hidden cameras
A mom went hell bent on Joe and had to just sit there and take it
It was hilarious watching Joe be the fake scum bag. But I can see it was hard on the kids mom thinking he was doing it for real.
They mention after, they revealed it was all a joke at the end to everybody but you can see it was very heated
The fact that he ran away, rather than standing there cheering and saying 'thank you", means not only did he know what he did was wrong, but he also knew everyone was about to tell him and maybe even get physical.
What a loser.
Good to see that he came back, but still embarrasing as hell😬
Yeah I wouldn't even came back, just keep running tbh lol
Biggest lie as a kid was thinking adults were mature
God damnit. I want to dislike Bryson, but it’s getting harder and harder.
Why do you want to dislike Bryson?
I just started following him this year due to him starting youtube and he seems basically impossible not to like but apparently all of golf hated him for a while? But in old clips hes the same dude as he is now so idk I need a tldr
He went to a rival league of the Pga funded by Saudis called LIV
https://www.golfdigest.com/story/Bryson-dechambeau-st-jude-invitational-controversy-covid-19-fore
tldr
- He was publicly arrogant earlier in his career, diminishing historically great players and challenging courses.
- He has a bit of a frat boy / nerd / do my own thing vibe that rejects traditional golf culture and advice. He uses unique putting techniques, same length irons, and focuses on strength training to improve driver distance over accuracy (which is supported by strokes gained analysis, aka bringing Moneyball to golf).
- There was beef between him and Brooks Koepka.
His public image has gotten better over the past few years with more mature responses in public appearances, joking around and other positive interactions with the public, and shows his nerd side on his YouTube channel (rather than being interpreted and filtered through golf media).
He plays a style of golf that the old heads don't like.
Does he drive for dough and putt for show?
Basically. All of his workouts and training is to extend the length of his drives
One of my favorite things about sports is disliking people that I don't know for no reason other than that they play for a different team. I had more fun watching the Broncos in 2022 and 2023 than I did watching the Seahawks because a guy had the audacity to not want to play for the team I like anymore.
Shamelessly taking money from a humans rights abusing regime maybe?
He’s changed a lot, for the better
Jog back of SHAME, glad to see the kid got the ball.
The man even ran away. What a pathetic play.
GOOD. I haaaate when adults cheat kids.
Dr. D has left the chat
The amount of second hand embarrassment I’m feeling right now…
Scum bag
That's awesome! The guy who took it is an ass.
We weren't really hockey fans when my kids were little but were invited to a game by some family members. It was a championship game with Colorado Avalanche playing and they won. My daughter was 4 and at half time, she was given the game puck. A player pointed directly at her in the crowd and thankfully they handed it back to her. She's 33 now and still has it, and is a dedicated Avalanche fan and goes to games frequently.
Good for him, but that's not what oddly satisfying is.
That was a fair catch. The kid should now understand the quality of people at the country club.
WHAWWT THE FUCK IS THIS TITLE
That title isn’t satisfying at all. In fact, i hear r/titlegore calling
It's a bot. All the submitted posts have the same style.
How embarrassing for that guy
Average golfer shithead🤣
The Saudis recruited smartly with Bryson. Mam knows how to make the people love him.
What a fucking douche….
You’d da man.
This is right up there with grown adults at ballparks, arenas, and stadiums who will literally knock a kid over to get in their way and deny the kid, who was about to catch the ball, said ball……just so said grown adult could claim a trophy and geek out…..over a silly ball.
Scumbag tried to run, knowing what he just did was fucked up. Loser.
Love it. Jabbing him the nose with the rubber end wouldn’t have been unjustified either. That reprimand Could have just been the difference between that kid taking it to heart and not picking up a club again, All because some adult toddler wants to throw his weight around and bully a child.
If he was going to run, he should have committed and just kept running. He made the worst decision 2 times
Nah fuck u it is my ball
Well sometimes people will make a poor choice, this was definitely one of those times.
He ran away so fast like the little weasel he is
For anyone who hasn't seen it and needs a good laugh, check out the Impractical Jokers. One joker who lost the episode was punished by going to a baseball stadium and intercepting balls clearly thrown to kids. The baseball player was in on it but the fans weren't and one mother let the joker have it. Once it was revealed to be a prank on a TV show, I believe all in attendance were given signed baseballs anyway. It's a season 6, 7 or 8 episode but I can't recall at the moment.
Hats off to him for calling him out and making him return the ball.
Golfers and golf fans suck.
If you're an adult and you find yourself competing with kids for something you might want to reconsider.
Dude took off running like a criminal
Props to Bryson for calling that out.
That guy who took the ball is a sucky human being.
I'll rochambeau you for it
Just remember, folks, there are fully developed adults out there who are gigantic pieces of shit
I think pretty much every golf fan in North America hates Bryson. But this helps I guess
You know that asshole was going to try to post in on eBay or something too SMH.
OP do you know how this subreddit works?
Video cannot be played, swipe to continue.
WTF is a grown adult going to do with a ball? Just catch it, look at it and give it to a kid or a fan in a wheelchair. What a fucking loser!
I kinda like only seeing the LIV golfers 4 times a year. Asshats all.
New to Golf - how does that man might know it’s for the kid? It was thrown towards the fans in general, isn’t it?
Fleeting joy
They've turned r/Satisfyingasfuck into complete dumpster now they're coming for r/oddlysatisfying with these shitposts, let's see if mods here are as useless or not (I really hope not).
Absolutely agree
Nothing odd about this
I find the entire balls for kids thing a little shitty.
Adults can have a kid inside of them. You can brighten their world too with a little token from someone they look up to.
I don't get why this sort of stuff HAS to go to kids.
That said, this clearly was intended for a kid so it was extra shitty stealing it and running.
Love that he made that clown give the kid the original ball, rather than just giving the kid a new ball
Sad pathetic excuse of a human being who steals a fucking golf ball, yes a golf ball off a kid Prick
Pos.
And the adult gave it back… guess he didn’t have the balls to keep it
It wouldn't surprise me if he had an extra ball in his pocket and gave that one to the kid and kept the real deal.
Total respect and great outcome from Bryson there…
…unless that man who ran away from the ball was a time traveller who was preventing that child from growing up to become a future tyrant that rules over us from a gigantic floating golf ball.
I’d like to say something about golfers. Most of them are not nice people.
I get going for the ball in a reflex, but you give it up instantly, you don't go running
I caught a home run ball at a baseball game when i wasnt near my parent and some guy stole it from me. Havent been to a game since
It’s so funny when people forget that they are an adult.
He’s trying to redeem himself after his brattiness after a tense fight with a rope last year.
These kind of people are the reason why some people (me) have lost faith in humanity.
I feel like Bryson helped renew the faith tho
I don’t give a shit about golf in the slightest but if I’m ever stuck watching a match I’ll root for Dechambeau if he’s playing.
Ok so maybe he’s not a total turd
English person here, respect for Bryson just went up massively. Will keep an eye on his scores and wish him week forever after seeing this.
You see this happen at baseball games too and basically anything where it’s being tossed into a crowd.
If you want a kid to have it, hand it directly to him.
But major kudos for calling the guy out and making him bring it back.
Love pros like this fr
Whats the deal with the blind kid and cane?
Adult should be a title to earn, not grow up with.
Stealing form a child is so embarrassing
Bryson PR team working overtime this weekend.
Dude deserves a big fuck you from the crowd..or just a stream of boos
I still hate him for joining LIV, but he definitely earned a bit of credit in the bank with this
Good on him for doing this.
You know who else stole a gold ball meant for a kid?
I now have a new favorite golfer.
What kind of adult steals from a child?
Why are adults such huge pieces of shit everywhere we turn?
There's always a dbag behind a kid ready to steal the ball at every game in sports
I'm not sure, man—perhaps you shouldn't believe everything you read online.
Why would anybody care about a shoddy golf ball? I don't get it, it's not even a real sport. And who is the angry shouting guy pointing with his golf stick at people? Just give him back his ball before he's going nuts and hurts somebody
Stop trying to change my opinion of this guy. This doesn't fit my narrative.
Then the kid sold the ball to the guy who stole it for $20
Who does that? Give me that ball kid, it’s mine!!! Then runs. A real fan.
that takes some balls
Part of me wants to think the guy had a spare ball in his pocket that he gave to the kid.
That part of me in an asshole.
That AY AY AY AYE AYE
shouldacouldawoulda gave thee adult a ball dumbdumb
The ball's on him.
Man. I already liked Bryson. Now he might just be my favorite for a while. Love it.
That guy deserved a good hard backhand across the face for taking that ball. What a fucking loser.
what a great man, we need more of them
“God damn you people, go back to your shanties!”
doesnt this happen in baseball too?
