Potentially my cat? O.o I don't understand what's happening?

Fluffball showed up a couple of weeks ago outside, VERY skiddish. Got him/her in for a bit during a storm, already there it was weird how calmly he was okay with being carried around.

Since I have off work today, told myself if cat shows up again today, I'll get him back in and will go to the vet.

Well, cat showed up. Vet appointment later. For a stray he/she is way too cuddly, with me no sign of skiddish fear or anything, on the contrary. I was YELLED AT IN MY OWN HOME when I paused the cuddles 🤨 ma'am/sir, I a) have another cat, b) you're not paying rent, c) how on earth is your furr so soft, give me your hair routine, like wtf???

Dumped or lost animals are skittish outside because they feel vulnerable. Once in a house...a safe place...they relax. And she yelled because she was still very stressed and the cuddles were helping her feel better so she was desperate that they not stop.

I once got a kitten that had been dumped in a friends barn. Acted all wild and skittish til I got it home. Then it crawled all over me, both teens and hubby. It was scared in the barn, which was a strange place, but once in a house he was happy as a little clam.

With fur in good condition, she hasn't been on the streets for long. Take kitty to the shelter for a chip check, post her on Facebook. Someone may be missing her terribly.

Cat update: he's not microchipped and not snipped, potentially around 8 months old. And now vaccinated first round 🤷‍♀️ sorry bro

I really think he either got lost or dumped :( but alas, he made it to the right place. If he's lost I hope his owners will see any of the Facebook posts. He wasn't chipped, but if he was an indoor cat they might not have thought of that.

I gotta say, if you do end up keeping or fostering, having 2 cats in a lot of ways is easier than just one. Once they warm up to each other, they will keep each other company and tire each other out

That's how we came upon our Maja. She was dumped at 4 months with terrible diarrhea. I'm sure someone dumped her because treating giardia is a huge effort. They probably would rather get rid of her than cooking out cat toilets daily, sanitizing after every "accident" and dealing with giving medication.

Cats are social and after yowling at each other for who is bottom bish, they'll get along fine. Make sure they both smell like you by rubbing your worm shirts over them and they'll bond in no time.

I have a thicc boy that turned up in my porch one day, 24/7 for 2 years. I fed him and comforted him. Then one day he turned up with a very feral kitten. Then that kitten had a baby in my porch when she was older. Now they all live indoors with me and my other cats, dog and bunny.

He lives with me. He can't walk far because he's so overweight. He doesn't lose weight either nor over eat. I think he's probably over 9. He can't really meow, he squeaks and honks. I called him squeaky honk honk. He would always run from everyone. But one cold night I opened the door and he was there and he climbed onto me when I went to pet him. And when bee, had her kittens in my porch he guarded the door. It was a heatwave. I brought them all in and they never left.

My childhood cat was like that. Dramatically overweight, nothing we did could help him lose it, even though he was pretty active. He lived to be sixteen years old so I guess he was healthy enough, just built different.

Yep. I’d also recommend saying you found a cat but don’t show a photo. If someone says they lost a cat, have them send a photo or describe what the cat looks like to see if it matches. Just a little extra precautions that should not hurt.

We got our second, Rosie, in a parking lot. She picked my husband's wheelwell and meowed at him all day at work. Hopped in and was on his shoulder as he facetimed and explained he had been adopted and, thus, would be coming home with a kitten.

She's so vocal still! We love her. she and our first, Binx, have become a bonded pair. They are inseparable and must go to vet together now. We can't imagine life without her. She makes our family complete (for now...). It was always suggested to us to get 2 cats and i see the logic. They are wonderful together and keep each ither active and happy.

Abandoned house cat. Vet's office can check for a chip. I have seen people leave months to travel leaving food bags out thinking their pets will be just fine.

They are never fine. They are sentient beings with hearts and souls who cry, hurt and grieve. Just like humans.

I hope you find a loving, caring hysterical family looking desperately for their baby but I doubt it.

There would be flyers everywhere. Flyers left at houses for a 3 mile radius.

Social media posts, a large reward and kids out looking.

So, you've been adopt by one of God's angels. You will never be alone again, ever, and if your baby journeys to the RBB before you he'll be there waiting for you.

Actually they did, my English teachers as well as my French teacher and my Russian teacher, and of course my teachers for my native language. As did and does my Linguistics professor ❤️

See, when somebody makes mistakes in my language, and is speaking it as a second language, I'm usually rather amazed that they decided to learn that language. And as long as I get the message they try to send, everything is grand. Also, quite often they speak a language I do not speak, so I'd rather not come across as an unkind my-language-centric person.

I don't let somebody misspelling something ruin my day. Now if you decide that somebody ruins your day by writing skiddish, alas, that's your decision.

Also, you seem to imply that I'm a kid. Which is a rather childish (🥹) approach trying to undermine my person. And quite far from reality, but once again, whatever makes you happy. And I'm happy to assume that you indeed speak your second language way better than I speak English.

However, this one is still solemnly on you :) in a different world you might have taken a different approach, eg "hey, random stranger on the Internet that is not uniquely US. Did you know that this word is spelled skittish? Just wanted to highlight this so you can avoid making this mistake. Happy to help."
