Brandon Xavier Ingram.
Ingram propaganda arriving right on time
People watch his highlights and think he should be the next KD, when in reality heās a better version of Michael Beasley
The sad thing about Ingram , is that heās an amazing scorer. But thatās about it, heās not an amazing or even good defender or an amazing playmaker at this stage of his career. Which disappoints me since in his first couple of years in LA heād initiate the offense in hopes of developing those playmaking skills. Really expected him to be better than he currently is 6 years ago.
I mean heās a pretty good playmaker for a wing. Averaged nearly 6 assists the last 3 seasons. Hes pretty capable of playing point in spurts.
Yeah, his biggest issues are his poor defense, constant injuries, over-reliance on iso, and his refusal to take a high volume of 3ās. His passing is one of this strengths!
I don't think his defense is that bad, but the other things are fairly correct. He's just the wrong fit with Zion too.
Nah, Ingram is a really good passer for a wing. He definitely has some playmaking chops
You can just say you dont watch the Pelicans its fine most people dont.
For better or worse heās more of a modern Melo.
If weāre strictly talking forwards Paoloās game stylistically has more in common with Melo tbh. They both play more of a power game.
Even then, I donāt think you can really compare Melo to anyone in todayās game. Completely different era. Embiid is the only guy I can think of who works out of the triple threat as much as Melo did
Kevin Durant?
True, but KD and Melo are only 4 years apart. Same era type dudes, KD just good enough to play forever.
I mean, LeBron (youngest star in Class of 03-04) was already with the Heat by the time KD entered the league.
Melo is even older than Bron.
KD got drafted in 2007, born in 88. Melo got drafted in 2003, born in 84. They came up in the same era.
Melo feels like he was from a different era cuz he wasted the last few years of his prime with the Knicks when he resigned in 2014. If he spent those years on the bulls with Jimmy Butler and Thibs, heās prolly remembered differently
Also fwiw Lebron didnāt join the heat until 2010.
Idk I guess it's all semantics. For some reason I always looked at the Thunder trio as being from the next era, same way I look at guys like Halli and Ant as being from the next era after the J's. Or the J's being from the next era after Kawhi/Jimmy/PG13.
That 4 year block is the difference between a rookie and a star in their prime. By the time rook hits his prime, the veteran star is on the downslope.
Unless you're Bron/Steph.
Melo was never this level of passer and is a way more physical presence than BI. BI is like a great man value version of current KD. Better playmaker than KD is tho.
Insanely disrespectful to Melo
Look at OP's name, you're onto something
I wish Lakers would go all in on him. Heās the the Prince that was Promised.
Heās a great midrange player, but he has some of the worst shot quality in the NBA. Pelicans have wanted him to take more 3s and fewer long 2s for a while, but he just hasnāt. Still a good player obviously, but man, with some small changes he could be so much better.
even Tatum changed his game to cater the modern efficient game
Tatum isnt anywhere the mid range scorer BI is that's why.
100%
No, Willie Green encourages this shit. He was taking more 3's when he first got to NO under different coaches but then Green, having played in the 2000's, came in started catering to Ingram getting these kinds of looks.
The numbers back you up. From over 6 attempts per game his first 2 seasons then immediately started working his way to under 4 attempts.
Yea Green's got them all to buy in defensively and the players all love him, but they need to bring in someone to modernize the offense for him
Thatās why Borrego was brought in. Ingram doesnāt listen or care.
True but it looks like they still run the same shit. Like the two Raptors clips late in this vid, the action is designed to get a midrange look feel me? Im saying they need a whole overhaul of the system, but hey I havent caught too many games so maybe you know better than me.
The whole team is 24th in 3PA while being 8th in %. I get that you want the better shooters shooting em and whatnot but yea to me it shows what kinda looks the offense is generating as a whole.
Spreadsheet basketballš„š„š„š„
I hate how hard it is for him to beat people off the dribble
Yeah, he doesnāt really get any seperation on these clips.
Im saying in general when i watch him
And that dribble is loose.
Tbf, he's not trying to. He's just trying to get his shot. Which he gets in every single one of these clips.Ā
That's because it's only the highlights lmfao
I'm not the one criticizing successful plays
Yeah he gets his shot which is highly contested in all of these clips. He has slow feet and lateral quickness. That lack of seperation is probably why heās so streaky.
Midrange is the worst shot in the game. Teams will happily take away the drive and leave these sort of difficult shots. BIs player efficiency rating is outside the top 25 largely because of these shots. If he's not going to the rim he's better off pulling a harden and doing these moves from 3.
Love BI. Coming off an injury, Dort was a terrible matchup for him.
Didnāt help that the refs let Dort get away with murder on him
Only Pels and Mavs fans understand that Dort's defense was bullshit
Every short, stocky defender seemingly gets the same benefit of the doubt. I watched PJ Tucker fouling people for an entire year and refs just casually swallowing their whistles for some reason.
reputation is also a reason why he gets away with a lot. good defenders get the benefit of the doubt more than bad defenders
Nah Perkins and Draymond just perfected the non moving moving screen.
thought it was andrew bogut & david lee
Add Suggs to that list. I have a video to prove it too. Was ridiculous the contact the refs allowed
Clippers fans too. I saw him undercut PG live and have hated him ever since.
Seriously hate Dort so much after that series. Blatantly targeting Lukaās injured knee over and over. Cannonballing into players at one end and then flopping on screens at the other. It was disgusting to watch.
I mean literally the same exact same thing happened the year before with Edwardās guarding Ingram extremely physically. I think it was 1 or 2 games vs Minnesota at the end of the year that were big for seeding / avoiding play in
So smooth with it
I already have a boyfriend and he plays NBA basketball. His name is Brandon Xavier Ingram.
Can u help me get his autograph please?
that's my Travis Law
2000s ahh baller lol
There's something so alluring about lanky mfs shooting middeys
dont get me salivating about his length and wetness in the mid range
Underrated imo. He just doesn't fit with CJ and Zion. Or maybe it's the coach idk
Hes built like hes an elite 3 and D guy, so teams expect that from him. He is elite, but not at the things you expect. Great shot creator and playmaker.
Literally No one expects BI to be a 3&D guy lmao what
I said LOOKED like one. And New Orleans very vocally wanted him to take more 3s. if he did, they probably wouldn't be looking to move him, and the spacing wouldn't be the main issue breaking up Zion and Ingram.
I said LOOKED like one.
You said teams expect that from him:
Hes built like hes an elite 3 and D guy, so teams expect that from him. He is elite, but not at the things you expect. Great shot creator and playmaker.
I said that no one expects him to be 3&D. Idk why youāre disagreeing with me, you said it
His implication was obvious and you're being an annoying shit.
What implication?
ew youāre one of those type of people š¤¢
Not good enough to be a 1. "Bad fit" as a 2 or 3. Not anyone else's fault
I love BIs game, but this far in I question his heart. He just gives me lavine type vibes. Like, its cool when hes hitting, but doesn't do anything else when hes not.
but BI's an awesome locker room guy and seems pretty beloved by both the team and fanbase for NOLA, its strictly a fit issue I think he has alot of heart. Matter fact I think he has much more heart than Zion, who to his credit looked locked in to vinish the year but has yo-yoed his weight and level of intensity frequently throughout his time in nola.
If you like watching guys pass up open 3s to dribble into contested long 2s, youāll love Brandon Ingram.
Shades of Carmelo
come to sacramento, we're the city of trees
I have a great tape too
Wow! This GOD is worth at least three first rounds picks š„š„š„!!! Step back hesi jimbo for days!!
Ah yes, the most efficient shot in the game. With a blistering 35% from deep
time to become star thia season
Tiny Dog
They look at BI and expect he shoot light out like KD
Man if only he had the motor to score in other ways when the midrange isnt falling. He'll just keep jacking up contested shots from the elbow no matter what happens
Heās got some Melo in his game
Back to Lakers?
Forgive meā¦ I was not familiar with your mid game
If DJM and Ingram somehow end up playing together it'll look like they're playing in another era with all the middies
Guy is a bucket getterā¦ but not sure if he has that fire in himā¦ Way to mellow for his own good. I can see why NOLA wants a lot for him ā¦ at the same time can see why other teams are low balling
KD at home
Perfect defense canāt stop BI
Kind of similar to Bob Mcadoo
Did Grif post this
AND AND HERES THE THING JOEL
Heās so smooth man
Ingram consistently creates enough space to shoot despite his defenders working really hard. As an old school guy made me think of Oscar who could always get 12-15 ft open shot no matter what the defenders did.
Bruh if he puts on more muscle and weight he could literally be even better, Such a slim frame for a tall body
If you think this dude is Tobias Harris 2.0 you really exposing yourself smh.
KINGRAM a killa and one bad playoff series coming off an injury doesnt change that.
Watch the highlight that the guy posted. Those were all tough contested midrange shots from iso. That is pretty much how Tobias likes to do it too cause they can't create good separations. The only difference is Tobias is less accurate. Same type of player just different names lol.
What no, BI is a ball handler and playmaker. Heās probably a top 10 passing forward. And his weakness is slowing down pace to play iso and never shooting 3s which is not Tobiasās game.
lmao that's exactly tobias game
Is he Tobias Harris?
Didnāt do shit in the playoffs and I used to be really high on him but I just donāt know if heās a winning player. Gives me Paul George vibes in that I just feel heās missing something that winners possess
Put him in the right situation this is another Kevin Durant
Iām very against the idea of trading him because of ONE playoff series when Iāve seen him take over games the past 5 seasons
KD is 1/1
One playoff series where he played injured, ofc heād shit da bed.
they forget what happened when he went against āDPOY runner-upā Mikal Bridges lol
Scored 30 a night.
Been scoring an efficient 25/5/5 for YEARS yet gets disrespected
him and Zion can work tbh. itās a coaching thing imo
Mikal bridges and his overrated defense been getting exposed for years
Didnāt you guys not win a game the whole season when you were down going into the 4th? Great player, no doubt, but not sure I would characterize him as someone who takes over games
He said last 5 seasons
Heās not KD but I think you couldāve swapped him with Tatum and not much of a difference would be noticed
I feel like his best role (on an actual contender at least) would be as a 6th man, but atm he's just young enough and on a big enough contract where a lot of people still want to cast him as #2 or #3 guy when he simply isn't.
BI is the best playmaker/passer forward in the league outside of Lebron.
Replays/alternate angles
