It's local Election Day! Polls are open from now until 7pm. City councils and school boards are often decided by just a few votes. Go vote Missouri!
PoliticsTuesday and people probably don’t even know it’s going on or do not care enough to take off work/skip their other responsibilities. I’m at the hospital right now.
Really low turnout in St Louis Coty
Every election should be a state mandated holiday
Working the polls,
Same here, we had 12% turn out. Weather may be partly to blame
Below 10% at a polling location that has huge turnout. But I. The city all we had was the MSD bond issues. Everyone knew MSD was getting their money may have had some influence on turnout.
Went and voted at mine, it was around 1:30 but there were 2 volunteers and like 5 of us at the time, granted people were trickling in and out. Looked like a ghost town. Hoping I was just late/early to the crowd and people actually got involved.
oh shit. I never got my notice of election. fucking Postal Service.
I don't think they sent one out. Just more disenfranchisement of voters in this state. The only mailing we've gotten from the election authority this year at my house was a notice of polling place change. No mailers, nothing about dates... yet my parents, who vote R down the ballot, got a mock ballot in the mail....coincidence??? 🤔
I’m generally D all the way down and I got one in the mail.
Did it come from your county election authority, or who sent it? My father had already thrown his away so he couldn't remember.
oh, I’m extremely conservative and tend to vote straight ticket Republican and I live in an extremely Republican county so I definitely am someone they want that ballot to get to. but frankly, it’s not needed I don’t think any non-Republicans run in our local elections.
Polls close at 7, good luck.
I feel like a total jerk for forgetting. Thought about it several times while at work today, then wake up from a nap on the couch at 8 pm realizing I forgot to visit the polls. Nap was good though.
Vote Republican
Why would anyone vote against their own interests like that?
Check out the book "what's the matter with Kansas" by Thomas Frank. It explains why people vote Republican and against their economic interests. It came out after little bush and explains the reasoning at that time. I think you can take a lot of that info and apply it to the teabaggers and then to Trump's cult of today.
I don’t know but i don’t judge
That might be part of your problem. You’re supposed to judge the candidates on their qualifications, not just vote based on whether there’s an R or a D next to their name.
Must've been dropped as a child, don't worry timmy its only been a few couple of years. You will recover, I got you in my thoughts and prayers.
Tell me you’ve never voted in a school board election without telling me you’ve never voted in a school board election before.
Yes please, vote for the people who are attempting to take power away from the people.
“Small government! Small government!”
Give me a break.
No one should blindly vote for 1 party. Everyone should review the candidates and vote for who they think will do the best job for the area
Gross
Thankfully, there were none in my district
Working the polls, low turnout out here in the sticks, unfortunately.
