I saw a post about the most corrupt business people in Minnesota on here and thought it’d be great to give some shout-outs to people we know who do business ethically. I’ll start with a few:
Cyndi McReavy at Washburn-McReavy Funeral Homes
Umut Kaplan at Coccinella
Dietrich Nissen at Inherited Stories
Edit: Thank you for all the responses! I appreciate the people who shared in earnest. We really got to support good businesses and call out the ones who don’t; especially if they’re local.
Eric Goerdt, Northern Waters Smokehaus in Duluth. Easily the most humble, hardworking, and generous man I've ever worked for. Short a dishwasher and couldn't find a replacement? He did it. Thank the entire staff after a record year? Raises and a party he catered at his place.
It was collaborative, offered and made superb products, and one of the best work cultures I've ever been part of. If you want a gold standard on how to inspire staff, run an efficient machine and make quality food - this is it.
